First pocket bikes, need help please

Hi, I just bought 3 pocket bikes, 2 x1's and 1 APC that lookes exactly like the x1's. They came from different places and I am trying to end up with 2 complete bikes. I got the apc running very easily with a carb clean and fresh fuel in the tank. It started right up and reved easily with no load, but barely moved with a person on it. (the bike does not roll well so I have issues with both brakes I still need to address)

I then went to work on 1 of the x1's. The wiring had issues so I just swapped the entire harness over. I pulled the carb to clean it and noticed that whoever had worked on it before had put it on backwards and the gasket was missing. I did notice that the carb was bigger and has an adjusting screw on the side next to the fuel line input. It also looks like there is a small flat screw driver slot in the top going into the "slide" (I know it is not a slide, but don't know what it's called). The smaller carb on the APC had no noticable adjustments. The other X1 has the same carb with adjustment screws. The gasket between the carb and the manifold was different on the X1 carb and I had to make one for the bike without any gasket. The APC and the 2nd X1 that I have not yet tried to start both had an aluminum manifold between the carb and head, the X1 I was working on had a black plastic manifold that was taller from carb to head.

When I tried to start the X1, it turned over slowly, about a half turn at a time with a few seconds between each slow surge. It quickly heated up the battery wires so I quit. The is no pull starter so I don't know if the engine is tight or the starter just bad.

Keeping all that in mind, here are my questions:

1. are the engines in the APC and X1 the same. If so I can just use the APC engine because I know it runs. ( I know the engine in the other X1 will run also so I will have 2 running motors)

2. What is the difference in the intake manifolds between the short aluminum and tall plastic.

3. What are the starting carb adjustments for the larger adjustable carbs?

4. Can I use the large carb on the APC engine if they are different?

5. I mixed to 25:1 ratio on gas, does that sound right or is that to rich and why APC had no power?

6. The small carb on the APC had a different gasket. The little hole does not line up with hole in the manifold so I don't know if it is correct. The hole in the carb side does not line up with the hole in the manifold.

7. Is there really no adjustment for the small carb? Seems unlikely, but I did not see any way to adjust on it.

Thanks for any help.

Re: First pocket bikes, need help please

I guess thru some research that the APC bike has a 43 cc engine and the x1 have 49 cc engines. The carb on the apc really has no adjustment but the larger carb will work on the 43cc engine. Still looking for answers to the other questions so any help would be appreciated.

C'mon, guys, I know there are a bunch of X series riders out there. Can someone give this guy a little helpful info?

Sorry, Doc, I've never messed around with either of those bikes, so I really don't know anything about them
