Frame modification

I don't know if it will help, but i can only assume those 1/16th inch mild steel gussets on the x18 frames are purely cosmetic. So i boxed the frame a bit and painted it while i had the motor out. The paints drying right now, so it'll be at least Sunday afternoon before i know if it had any effect on the bikes handling.

Re: Frame modification

I don't see how it could really hurt reinforcing the frame ... Nice work, btw.

Re: Frame modification

Hah Ha! Success! I did a few extra mods to it which didn't leave much time to test ride it.(damn motor home hobo lives in the parking lot..) But even on a initial test ride it seemed much quicker and agile response to the controls. Hard to describe though. CAM you know your ish man, the x series suffer from bad elastic deformation with the weak frame. Anyhow loaded some pics from the project. Check it out. Let me know what you think.
