Re: IP2 Type 3 Race Pipes - Exhaust

Hey lsaddict,
Thanks for helping him out, I've been flying around. I'm actually in NY right now.

BlueSi4,
You're right it is too long. The only bike this fits without making it shorter is the Full Fairing bike with the 4 bolt seat.

Mark the muffler where it needs to be cut.
Remove the pin and end cap
Slide the muffler and fiberglass off
Cut the muffler and fiberglass together (hacksaw works good)
Slide the muffler and fiberglass back on together
Put the end cap and clip back on
Cut off the excess perferated pipe sticking out.

That's it! Like he said, 10 minutes at the most!

Greg

Thanks Greg, like I said I didn't wanna bash you or anything, just thought that the pipe would fit without any modification required, but I should have known better. Seems that almost all aftermarket parts available need to be modified in order to work/fit, and honestly, the same applies for my car, which ****es me off even more. I don't mind cutting a $60 exhaust, thanks for the heads up.

No problem,
It's mentioned several times in this thread that most need to be cut but the tread is getting pretty long now so I can see how you missed it.
It's easy to do - you'll be good to go after that.
Enjoy,
Greg
