New here

Hey all, I'm new. I have a pocket bike I'm rebuilding.. I know I know it would be cheaper to just buy a new one but I like a project. Anyway, just wanted to say hi before I jump in posting.

Welcome to the site, Knuckle Buster. (Gawd, what a great screen name ....)

What kind of pb do you have? Pictures? You can upload to an image hosting site like PhotoBucket, and then post the links to the images here. Pics help a lot on this forum for ID'ing what kind of bike you have, and heliping with specific problems.

Re: New here

Yup, sure is .... follow the fist link in my signature to find all out about the bike.

Intreresting ..... I want to say a Lucky 7, but that's not it .... I have seen that fairing around here somewhere, though .. custom fairing, the other one I saw was silver.

Re: New here

The frame looks similar to a yellow one I saw... I think on here... yeah here it is. The title is "Sendai Tai Chi.. its under the chinese pb pictures.

But I'm not sure. There are a few I have seen that look similar. Also it looks as if the carb goes straight into the head on the yellow one, and on mine it bolts to the bottom of the block. Could be a motor swap too though...

LOL identifying it would really help in my parts search.

Re: New here

Hmm ..... show a shot of the carb? I'm going to guess it's not a stock 47cc Cag carb, but a Walbro ...... Are there two lines on the carb, both going to the gas tank, or only one?

Thats funny my nephew should have his screenname....heres a pic of his hand after wiping out my X-1 racer.Went down hard going full throttle into a sweeper when he lost the rear traction and came up like a trooper..Of course I had to take a pic for the family scrapbook of carnage...

That bike looks almost like a blata ultima but way more chinese..............

theres a pic of your bike in this u-tube vid at 1:28

Re: New here

Hes ok and a trooper although it did kill chances at LaCrosse tryouts this year.I thought my sis was gonna flip out but she was ok with it...Luckily it wasnt his writing hand...He fought me tooth and nail about not wanting to wear gloves and now he knows why I kept insisting...I was showing him how to kneedrag and he took the concept too far by dragging the hand.....The bike aswell as my HJC Helmet took a good hit too but theyre not as important as my nephew...as you can see the winshield ,fairing, shield support, handlebar and frontbrake handle bent and broke..What you cant see is the exhaust flange broken off at the engine, tweaked front forks and popped rear tire..For the wickedness of the crash the outcome was pretty mild considering..

Re: New here

Rule # 1 : SAFETY FIRST. PERIOD.

Rule # 2 : SEE RULE # 1.

Rule # 3 : Drag the knee, not the knuckles .....

Yeah, looks like the bike got it pretty good, too. Hard lesson to learn, but hope the kid learned it .....

Re: New here

I learned the gloves/helmet lesson a looong time ago. Picking gravel out of your palms and knuckles isn't fun, still have the scars too. I learned the "full gear" lesson after I pancaked my 929RR when I lived in Cali acting like a fool. I have pictures somewhere.

I'll get some pictures of the motor/carb in a minute.

Re: New here

Here is the Motor/carb. I finally found a set of numbers on it and it traces back to Yuhuan Power Eagle motors... LY1E40F-6A

The more I search on it the more I think its just a Chinese knock off PB.

Re: New here

That's just a cheaper air cooled version of the Tai chi & firefox ( C1 ) with a cag motor in it. Badazztoys sold them. If you do a search for both them bikes I'm sure you will come across it.

Re: New here

Thanks straydawg! So does anyone know of a motor that would swap into here? Preferably a air cooled 4 stroke.

On a side note... I have a Husky Boy Sr. that I have been thinking of mating with this bike. Was thinking of cutting the neck off both frames as well as the rear of the Husky, then welding it to the pb frame. Then trying to find different wheels to get rid of the spokes but keep the disc brakes.

Not sure how ridiculous it would look sitting so high up. But would make it easier to ride being that I am 6' 2".

Heres the Husqvarna I'm thinking of butchering.

Re: New here

I would just turn that Husky into a minimotard by just putting some slicks on the rims.

Re: New here

I was going to rebuild it but it is missing too many parts. I haven't had much luck finding parts and the ones I can find are way too much. I can't find a clutch, it needs the complete exhaust, ignition, a seat, the front forks are blown, needs a stator cover etc etc. I could buy a CRF50 knock off for what I would spend in parts on this bike and still be able to swap the suspension off the husky to the CRF.
