Ok so..I made this post in a quest to find out what everone is running on there C1/blata reps.. I know all the carbs..just havent tried them..
I am trying to get a good idea about what carbs are good and what ones are bad..
I have tried the 14/14 and like it..but I am sure there are other carbs that might create more power in low and high..
I hear the 19 carbs are garbage..
Also my main goal is to get a carb thatll work superior on a 40 or a 50cc setup..
Tom
The best all around carb for the C1 is a 16/16 SHA. Next on the list is a PHVA 17.5 followed by the PHVB 19 toping out the list as the best carb.
Anyone of these carbs will work with either a 40cc or 50cc
My opion is based on the fact that I have tried almost every carb available for a PB - china 14, china 15, china 17.5, china 19, Dell 14 SHA, Dell 16 SHA, Dell PHVA 14DD, Dell PHVA 17.5, Dell PHBN 17.5, Dell PHBG 19, Dell PHVB 19, Mikuni 21
hows the 16/16 work out? also I hear the 17.5 are a pain in the butt...
I also dont wanna lose any lowend power...Id like an increase in both low and high
Personally i found that the 18mm dellorto with a 3mm reed spacer strikes a good balance. But for a standard or near standard motor the 14mm seems just as good.

the 17.5 was right on the money, it just needed a larger pilot & main. I ran it on my modded C1 with a blata reed cage/stuffer and a polini air filter and a blata dome cap, i also ported & case matched the cylinder.
the banshee carb worked great on my stock C1 with only needing a bump up in jet size and using pantyhose for a filter
i use the phbg19 replica carb with 86 main, real choke, real c clip, real gaskets, real springs, and metal float bowl with drain. it works okay, but im trying to figure out the best setup for it
Sounds like conjecture at this point, I mean there has to be an advantage to replacing the stock carb. Factory engineers do a lot of research so what I'm asking (never having EVER changed a stock carb unless changing fuel {alcohol, jet fuel} ) why not just re-jet? Am I missing something?
Most real B1's come with the PHVA 17.5 or they upgrade to the PHVB 19 which is listed in the Blata special parts catalog...the 14/14 replica the chinese put on the C1 is really a better suited carb for a cag, which is why the real Dellorto 14 comes on the Blata 2.5/2.6.
the 14/12 comes on the blata 2.5
but I hear ya on that..I guess I will try the 17.5
I cant just slap it on and jet it? I will be running it on a 40 with bw reeds and squish set.

depends where ya get it from.. if your buying new from someplace like eurocarb you can have them put the settings you want in it..just do some searching for a basic setup for a B1 and that should get ya in the ballpark, plus order some extra jets. Ive ordered from both places below (Eurocarb & VE)
if ya dont mind spending the money, personally i would get the PHBG 19ds black racing carb with the trevor setup from eurocarb and get the correct blata manifold, reed cage & stuffer from blata usa..
