Re: X6 110cc Looking for Sprockets

pocket bikes unlimited if you got with a smaller front sprocket you will get quickness, if you got with a larger you will get speed so i suggest go with a 15 tooth front sprocket

Re: X6 110cc Looking for Sprockets

Whats your current gearing now???It should be 17/33...Is it 6 screw mounting or 3 screw?

Im pretty sure its the same type or tooth sprocket that comes on the X-7's and even if its the 3 screw pattern its still the same screw spacing and will interchange with the 6 pattern hub less 3 screws of course ..

If you have 17/33[1.94 ratio] you already have close to 15/28 gearing [1.87 ratio] and to get the most top end out of that automatic engine you need to find an 18 tooth front sprocket or get a custom rear sprocket made through bombparts...

Theres mods you can do to it to make it a stouter powered engine to spool-up faster and give a better ride and feel.........Peace..

Re: X6 110cc Looking for Sprockets

The best gearing for a stock modded 4 speed 110cc mid is 17/32.Automatics already come 17/32..17/33....But they dont make a 32 rear sprocket for the X-15/18/19 so youre gonna have to go to 15/28 for totally stock and mildly modded 110cc or 16/28 gearing for a descently modded 110...17/28 really only works good if the 110cc has a BVH and HC piston...17/28 will be a little too low in the ratio without...I stuck 17/28 gearing on an X-19 and I had done some mods to it to make it faster like fuellines.race cdi,hp airfilter, exhaust headpipe porting, stock ported and rejetted carb/ported intake,hp sparkwire,NGK racing plug and 28 tooth rear sprocket..1st and second gear was phenomenal;- 3rd and 4th gear was too steep and it took a hard engine revving and wringout in 3rd to get 4th to really top out which took quite a distance to complete...After the 16 tooth went on a couple weeks later the bike ran well in all 4 gears...

EPR you have a 4 speed and your benefits would be to first change the rear sprocket to a 28 and finetune the ratio with front gearing changes as these will be the easiest to change to make a correction afterwards..Another change that will make a difference too is replacing the rear tire for a larger diameter 130/70-10 rear tire

On my X-15 I used the optimal gearing of 14/22.............Peace

photo & descriptions No Probablemo!! I got this 22th rear gear on my X18
from PBU.com, the photo on the Web Page, showed a gear notch on the

Re: X6 110cc Looking for Sprockets

Cam2,
Just wanted to Thank You for all your help w/ theX18 stuff, the rain has stopped for awhile! Going to take that carb off again, put a .79 jet instead of the .83!! Started it yesterday, hard to start, have to keep the choke on, or Rev. it Up, and it pops & bangs at lower rpms, its a real Mess!!!!!!
Sound strong above 6000 rpms!! So, time to check it out.
Got my 28 th rear gear from PBU, its a work of Art, don't know if they make one for an X6! But, I would Ask? Have a 15&16 th in the Mail.
Have a couple of questions, you have wrapped your exh., is that to keep the heat in the pipe?? On your stock carb Mods. you poked holes in the brass tube, in the Float Bowl, is that right? With gas in the Bowl would it not leak out the over flow tube & hose?? EPR!

Re: X6 110cc Looking for Sprockets

Your welcome man....You stuck an 83 jet in it? Thats too steep for a bike with limited mods.I have an 83 mainjet in my X-18 but it also has a stock ported carb to 21.92mm's, h/c piston and a reground camshaft with custom head porting.. I feel you may have an airleak mixed in because if it was overjetted totally you wouldnt need the choke to run it.The plug should be soaking wet if it was all good and richened up too far...The choke starves off air to introduce a greater fuel ratio with less air to reach the plug...Do you have an under carb spacer? If so you need to countersink the screws that mount it to the head a little deeper....If not I would double check the orientation of the plastic isolator spacer. Its easy to stick it on upside down or backwards and easier to crack it..The o-ring on the spacer goes towards the intake manifold because the carb has an o-ring....Another thing to double check is your float height setting...Your float could also be set too lean with the carb overjetted..The 79 will be a better choice especially for this time of the year

The mainjet tubes I modded...I didnt poke a pin all the way through...I reshaped the holes to more of a cone funnel shape to scoop up the air easier to push the fuel up to the carb venturi and atomize it finer and denser with more pressure..In the picture of the mainjet tube below the mainjet tube has been modded...If you look at a stock one youll hardly notice the 20 small holes as easy as you can see the 5 in the picture..

On my pipes I have them wrapped.......The wrap keeps the exhaust super heated to get it out the tip faster with a quick flow...If the exhaust cools too fast in the pipe the hot exhaust hits cooler exhaust and thats like trying to blow a ball across the room with a straw instead of a hose..Basically the heated exhaust hits a brickwall[cooler exhaust] and slows down killing performance......

Re: X6 110cc Looking for Sprockets

Cam2,
If you remember I started w/ a .87 jet, back to .83/ next will be .79, I was thinking like you, it Runs better w/ the choke On, that's Not Right!!! When I put the Carb. back last time, I took it off to see if O rings, they were right, but they look Flat, I bored out the plastic spacer to about 22mm, real close to the rings, that could be a problem too, but this time I am using Premt. 133ab this time!! I did not look at the piston & needle on
the carb., I didn't know if you could adjust it or not, or what position it was in! The main jet, I did not know if or How it came out, I did not want to break anything!! Am also going to look more closely at the float & fuel level, I use Surgical Clamps on the fuel line, & the bowl had alot of gas in it, & I ground the bowl tab down already!! I am going to add a Fuel Shut Off Valve, soon!! The biggest problem is, the back of the carb. has been taper bored to almost 22mm, I did not touch the front, the spacer the same, but the head port is only around 20mm, I stuff some paper & in the intake port & hand filed the outside edge the best I could but it is
restricked from the Int. to the Valves!! Can't get under the body to work
on it!! My plan is to work on the Carb. some more, I'll get it right sooner or
later. Plan #2, I can buy a 110cc Eng., thinking X19 w/auto trans, & Beef
the Whole thing!! A new eng. is $160, w/ trans, buy it take it apart bore
out the Cyld. Hole, want 160 or 180cc Big as I can go, Port polish the Head, Big Duration ,Top Hat Cam! New Exhaust, the curve is way to tight
cause they did not want to burn the Body, which We cut off already!!
This Eng. only has about 50 miles on it, so it is still New! Thanks Again!!
PS. I plan to buy a Carb. spacer after New Years, and make a Head Breather Kit, like
you said!! Couldn't figure out where the hose goes from the Valve adj. Cover, I was
going to run the hose from there to the breather hose off the Eng Case, which is just
hanging around under the gas tank!!
