| How To: First Things for a New Bike Well, first off you should ALWAYS wear protective gear, even if your just driving around a parking lot.
1: When you get your bike out of the packaging, check for any missing pieces, dont worry about bolts or anything.
2: Goto your local hardware store, and bring a few bolts with you to match sizes.. i wouldnt want to use those stock recycled aluminum ones. buy a set of stainless steele ones if you can, and get some nice rubber washers and Blue Loc-Tite.
3: Take the body apart, make sure all the bolts are tightened everywhere on your bike.
4: Tune your carburator, screw it in all the way, and come out 2 and a half turns, it works for me but all carbs are different.
5: Screw the body back on, with the blue Loc-Tite. Secure engine from bottom.
Fill with gas/oil and you should be on your way. Dont put any performance parts on your bike until it goes through 3 tanks of gas, actually do 4 tanks.
DONT BEAT ON YOUR BIKE EVER! even if it is broken in. |
