Yeah it must be fun using the electric start but I think it's easier not having to charge it all the time.

Take it apart and you will see a black, half circle, plastic piece, remove that piece and screw the hand throttle back together. To uninstall the governor on the top of the carburetor unscrew the bottom screw of the small L shaped piece. Once youve taken that off remove that screw and screw it back in without the L shaped piece. Removing these governors will allow you to go alot faster because your engine will rev at higher rpms. I hope this Helps if you have any questions send me a PM and I will try to answer them.

If i take both the throttle and the carb governor out, will it increase my speed more than if i just took one out?

Re: How To: Uninstall X7 R1 Governors (Pic)

If you go to post #1 of this thread you will see the pic of it. It's the little L-bracket with the small screw in it.

Re: How To: Uninstall X7 R1 Governors (Pic)

If it's there you would see it without any problems. It would be right on top of the carb. The little screw acts as a throttle stop.

49cc X7/FS529 new Cateye pocket bike parts

The carb on this site has a stock and performance one. I have a X7 2 stroke and have stock carb and the only thing i see like the half moon and L shape is all the black plastic on the of the carb.

Re: How To: Uninstall X7 R1 Governors (Pic)

Before you start pulling/cutting parts off your bike, take the air filter off and look at the throttle butterfly inside the carb. The throttle butterfly is what moves when you twist the throttle. Go ahead and give your throttle a twist did you see the butterfly open? Now think of twisting the throttle to open the butterfly as climbing a hill. You want to get to the top of the hill and be at the highest point possible without going too far. Same thing with your throttle butterfly. You want your carb to flow as much as possible by opening the butterfly to it's optimal position which should be 90 degrees from it's closed position. If you twist your throttle and it opens the butterfly to where it needs to be then removing any components is going to screw you up (you will go to the other side of the hill and miss the peak). If you aren't opening the throttle butterfly enough, then by all means, fricken cut off that stopper.
