Post How To: Uninstall X7 R1 Governors (Pic)

There are two governors on the x7 R1 pocketbike. One is located in the hand throttle and the other is on the top of the carburetor. You will need a phillips screwdriver and an allen wrench. To uninstall the hand throttle governor unscrew the two large screws on the top of it. Take it apart and you will see a black, half circle, plastic piece, remove that piece and screw the hand throttle back together. To uninstall the governor on the top of the carburetor unscrew the bottom screw of the small L shaped piece. Once youve taken that off remove that screw and screw it back in without the L shaped piece. Removing these governors will allow you to go alot faster because your engine will rev at higher rpms. I hope this Helps if you have any questions send me a PM and I will try to answer them.

Re: How To: Uninstall X7 R1 Governors (Pic)

I've read and reread your post and then went out to my bike and fail to find either item. On top of my carb there is 2 screws, one where the throttle cable comes in and one on the other side of the top closer to the cylinder. There is a plastic plate being held down by these 2 screws and a small protrusion coming up from this plate that the throttle cable hits and stops. I can cut this piece off but it doesn't seem to be removable otherwise.

The second one, in the throttle handle, I can't find at all....I removed the two phillips screws holding it together and looked inside only seeing a white pulley looking disc the cable ends in.....is the black half circle piece under this?.....to the left/kickstand side.....or the right side?

That's the governor. Just remove it and it will help.

It is the 2 stroke model and it should work on all 49cc mid bikes.
