Possible spyware hacks on PBP server?

I was surfing PBP and all of a sudden a download window flashed and closed before I could read it. I opened my Windows task manager right away and noticed an unverified task running and before I could click it it closed and then opened Ebates Mo Money Maker. I run anti-spyware programs everyday and have Norton 2004. I'm able to completely remove the Ebates program, but when I'm surfing your site and your site only it will reinstall itself. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought that it may be embedded into my IE program but between running Spybot, Adaware, Norton, and manually searching and cleaning my harddrive and registry I would think that it would get rid of the program completely. Plus if it were imbedded in IE then it would reinstall when I visited other sites Ebates is affiliated with such as Walmart, but it doesn't. Just wanted to give you a heads up, it may be hacked into the PBP server somehow.

Nope, the server is clean and no programs or spyware are being downloaded to your computer from PBP.

Since you visit other sites that use this "Ebates" program I'd suggest you look on those sites.

With over 70 new members everyday and thousands of daily visitors believe me if PBP was putting some kind of spyware of people's computers I'm sure we would have a bunch of members in this forum screaming their heads off.

My cag only does 34mph, i think it's also something to do with the PBP server, i think you should give it another check just for me

I use Giant Antispyware, seemed to catch a lot of stuff the others missed.

Thanks Robert, I really doubted it had anything to do with PBP. It just seemed really weird that it loaded while I was surfing PBP and not another site, and that it's happened more than once. Must have just been coincidence. Probably attached to IE prefetch, then later when I opened IE to surf PBP is when it was activated. There needs to be some kind of law made against pop-up ads and spyware, that stuff is just annoying and getting out of hand and IMO unlawful to invade my PC.

By far your only issues is safe computing… As for the Unverified task, and the Ebates Mo Money Maker. This is ONLY installed when you click install from associated web sites or in some cases it istalled along with some program commonly downloaded from the net. If I was you I’d install all windows updates and if at all possible upgrade to Windows XP SP2 ( Service Pack 2 ). If you like more help please PM.

I agree 100% I hate both SpyWare and Pop-Ups. In fact I have had many offers from advertiser to run Pop-Ups on Pocketbike Planet.

The day Pocketbike Planet runs pop-ups is the day hell freezes over.

Thanks. I have SP2 installed and I don't download any programs with spyware that can't be removed. I'm guessing it was from Walmart.com b/c that's one of their biggest hosts now. It just took me to close IE and open it later to activate the install, which is total BS! Spyware cookies **** me off! At least if you download a program with spyware it tells you it's there if you read the liscense agreement. I don't have any problem removing it, it's just a pain in my *** to do all the time, it would be nice if Spybot could immunize against ebates so it would not install again. I can't keep the GF from shopping on the net so I need to find some way to block that crap.
