Cool Guess Who's On Council?

Hey guys, check out the new handle. Yeah man, The staff asked me to sit in on the council, so I accepted and bang there ya go, there I am.

Now I know for a fact that there has been ripples in the fabric of the PBP nation about this,, but hey it's just like racing ya know, if you don't get it now, well there's always next year. (insert here a picture in your mind of a middle aged grown man foolishly dancing around the living room with the dog barking up a storm while repeating the phrase '' I'm on the council, I'm on the council " like Eddie Murphy's I got my ice-cream).lol.

How ever there are and will be many, many members who will be happy or content over the choices that the staff has made. I'll do my best to do the best job I can. Looking forward to seeing the inside.

Once again, thanx gang.

Re: Guess Who's On Council?

Hey Congrats StrayDawg, you too I see, thats great. I believe it'll be a powerfull experience, changing of the guard and all. However this guard can't find his way to the council room, how embarrasing, my first day and I'm lost. lol.

And some where in here I saw my PBP council mem. under my handle name. It's not on this post though, coming soon I guess.

(Yeah, I gotta cut down on the bowls of coco puffs in the morn'n.)

No, not at all, it means you get to answer even more questions for the benefit of the newbies...

so in other words, no same thing, different day, but I would think that it will help new guys know who has been around, and who has successfully answered questions that have been asked, and have helped lead to a solution.

Well, congrats go out to nickj and cam2 as well for their appointments to the council.

And thanx nick you said what was needed to explain a little deeper into the decision making.

It's not just this or that, but a multitude of talents that makes one eligable for choice. To put it nicely.

Re: Guess Who's On Council?

I to my understanding from the pm i got.The council is suppose to help come up with new ideas and ways to make this forum a little better for new member and ALL.Plus to help in it's growth.Which i think will be a great idea and i think all the people that have accepted will do a fine job.
I don't think i will do as well because i'm geared totally towards racing no street riding strictly tracks and parking lots as long as it's a road course.LOL so i'm very narrow minded in that since. So i feel that i really wouldn't be much help.I would like to though.LOL

Re: Guess Who's On Council?

have a look at all the old posts from whatever member you are taking advice from, this will show you what the person you are talking to really knows about, if you'll notice I don't field allot of banshee questions, but if you have a B1/C1 and need help I bet I have already made at least one post answering your question. just like with a doctor, do some research about the person you are asking, and then you must decide if you want to follow the advice or seek another opinion.

also have a look at what each person has put in, have a look at my 3d minimoto parts post to see some of what i have brought to the table in the last little while. and if you have a B1/C1 and want some good info see my older C1 related posts.

so with that in mind, users can look at your old posts and see what you know and then decide if they think you know what you are doing or if they think you don't.

Re: Guess Who's On Council?

Well, I WAS listed as being on the council - I had a couple of posts with my new status on it - but then it disappeared, and I haven't seen it since. I suppose I'm too much of a hooligan to be there or something .......

At least we know redbull will never be on the council - sorry dude, when they say 200 posts, they mean 200 QUALITY posts, where you're actually trying to help someone, not just being a richard cranium .... not to mention waiting a minimum of three months from your election date. See, ANYONE can do 200 junk posts, wait the three months, and then ask for a seat on the council - I'd rather see someone who may not have a lot of posts or as much time in, but tries to make each post count for something, trying to help someone or give useful information. 2bamp said it best: "Quality over quantity."

Re: Guess Who's On Council?

Well thanx for the compliments guys. It seems that if you want to know if you are a member of the high council, go to the racing assoc. forums, there you'll find the "council meeting room" or not, I'm told only mem. will see it,if you get in then your in, if not yer not.

And a big congrats to all of the new high-archy.lol.

You will do just fine sir. I too am geared toward and do race. PBP does not tolerate street riding, as it is just flat irresponsible and DANGEROUS! Just stick in there and give the best advice you can.

Because you race, things will break and you'll have a better understanding of whats up with different bikes and modifications.

People hate to be told, but some need to utilize the search function more. There is a ton of great info and a lot of the questions about pocketbikes have been answered multiple times by the best in the business. There is almost no stone unturned when it comes to getting a CAG, Polini or BZM engine to romp hard. Peace.
