NEW rule adopted by council vote

The following rule was adopted after winning a majority vote in Council.

No link to any outside website may be embedded within a name or a signature, or within any post without an accompanied verbal description.

Only paid advertisers will be excepted from this rule. This will include links to personal websites, places of business, or any link that transports a member off of this website. Links to galleries or pages within our forums are allowed. A link is allowed in a post but there must an accurate verbal description such as.."this is a link to the Daytona race track", etc.

Persons with links embedded in their names, avatars, signatures, etc are asked to remove them now.

People can still have outside links in their user profile and links in their signatures to their user profile, albums, or other on site locations. The only people who will be upset will be those who have been exploiting our membership for personal gain yet refuse to sponsor the forum in my opinion.

Just for reference, this works for internal links, too. The link in my signature is to a page on THIS site, but it is inactive.
