Carb problem...

OK... so I got my HP carb and air filter installed but now when I try to prime my carb, it's just sucking a bunch of air. I took it apart and inspected it and it's still sucking. Is there anything I can do?

Re: Carb problem...

I took the bottom of the carb apart and it had a rubber gasket and another really thin gasket in it. I removed the thin gasket and i put the carb back together. I primed it and fuel came squirting out of the bottom. As soon as i put the thin gasket back in it seems like my intake jet doesn't get any suction. I know this because i have tried sucking on it and blowing on it and nothing flows thru. I am lost?????????

Re: Carb problem...

I took apart my carb and I noticed that there are a couple of areas where the carb is "chipped". I couldn't get a clear enough picture so I drew a diagram of the bottom of my carb. Arrows point to the areas where it is chipped. Would this cause my carb to not get any fuel in the bulb when I'm trying to prime it??? Thanks.
