Re: Cateye Help!

Its the same as the one pictured below...........its a good pipe and it definately adds revs....

I took my 33cc goped that went 18 mph flat out and ported the transfers/intake/exhaust;-polished the piston;added a 43cc carb w/ boost bottle/rocket key and took the old rev pipe pictured below and cut it to fit;-added a kicker ignition and now the little 33cc screams 34 mph on GPS...........Peace

Re: Cateye Help!

No the engines are piston ported;-but you can change it to a dual inlet reed valve system for even more power by getting a blast box and windowing out the piston..........if you get the full circle crank;-you dont need the rocket key;-the crank comes 10 degrees advanced......The kicker ignition doesnt save any weight;-it adds CDI power to the ignition system and runs off a 7.2 rechargeable battery similar to rc cars........Peace

Re: Cateye Help!

Bolting the reed cage on is easy;-they sell a direct bolt-on reed cage.........the rest of the job is kind of technical...........it involves dremeling a window in the piston so it pulls the fuel in as a dual channel.......The window has to be at the right spot to work right...............for your $300.00 budget I would get a 52cc bigbore kit with a new crank/hp style carb/hp filter/juicebox/exhaust pipe/hp clutch springs........that should just about cover what you have to spend..........Peace

Re: Cateye Help!

There isn't a full circle crank for the piston port motor. But for your $300.00 you could maybe have one made.

Re: Cateye Help!

If your engine is a 49cc it is actually a 51.7cc (44mm bore) so you wont be gaining anything by purchasing a so called big bore kit, no such thing unless you have a 43cc engine and then the 49cc cylinder will boost the CC's to 51.7... No one makes a big bore kit for the 49cc engine, the only so called BBk is the ones they cut the top off of and make a removeable head for..... If purchasing one of these make sure you get the right one as they have them for the cag style 49cc engine which looks simular but won't fit..
