Gear shifter bolt always loose

Is there a way to make it so that bolt don't come loose after riding the bike a couple times? When that bolt come loose its really hard to shift gear, one time it actually came off while riding and I had to drive home on first/second gear.

When I make this bolt too tight, I can't shift, so I have to loosen it a little, but then it keep getting looser and looser each time you ride it.

Anybody else getting this problem?

Locktite dude I used red and made a little sleeve that I put in it at the hardware store. Good luck but make it snug and let it sit for a few hours for the locktite to set

Loctite sets up almost right away.........Friction from torquing is what sets it off............

The best way to keep your shifter bholt tight with the addition to loctite is getting a grade 8 bolt screw set and putting in a screw thats 1/4" longer and adding a jamb nut also..................Peace

hey my perfect fix was not loctite take a small drill bit and drill thru the top of threaded part and put a small metal pin or nail and bend it around... also make sure there is room for the nut and use a soft nail/pin so u can just cut it off with wire cutters if u need it off
