Re: My $100 X15 Thread

I Recently bought a YSR, and i'm going to try to sell off the 15 to help pay for the parts to get my YSR race ready.

All i really need for the YSR are tires, a pipe, and i would love to get new bodywork, the ones i have now are in pretty bad shape.

I think a ysr would be a better track competior than my 15

Re: My $100 X15 Thread

12K views, Awsome. Never thought i would get that much interest.

Anyway, The "$100 x15 thread" is comming to a close, A guy is comming out tomorrow to pick up the bike, for a really cheap price, but its hard finding a buyer in my area, so i'm gonna take it.

Next Project is a 1987 YSR50 that i picked up for $625, pretty good deal for what all i got.

I will be doing a light post here on PBP, and a much more detailed thread on midbikenation.com.

The money from the 15 will help me get my YSR project started.
It currently runs and rides, but I'm working on trying to buy a titled frame, and then i will swap frames, and begin the process of trying to make my YSR50 street legal, or if i cant get a titled frame, i'll build it up to a TMGP racer.

Not as smooth looking as my 15, but it has alot more potential to be something more than it is now.

well, it does have some things beat than most people's xbikes, overall build and crafstmanship is much nicer, the front brakes rock compared to the x's, the rear brake is nice too, but its a little too good, it likes to lock up pretty easy, and you have to try to steer a sliding bike, not fun.

stock to stock, the only thing i can see the x's have on the ysr, is the weight, x's have some allum parts, while the yami is all steel. The size is good/bad depening on the application. tight tracks, smaller bikes are good. and the fact that parts are cheaper and easier to find, but you also get what you pay for.
Its all trade off's i guess.

I guess i should see about making a "my YSR thread"

Re: My $100 X15 Thread

the stock speedos are not accurate, if your going by that
you prolly have a 14 front sprocket and a 38 rear, that is the slowest combo you can get
if you get a 17 front you will get a little faster

one thing, if your expecting your stock 15 to go 50mph, it probably wont happen. i think mine only topped at 45 or so when i first got it. But with carb and a new sprocket like blitz suggested, you can go around 50-55
