x18 questions.. important!

hey everyone i just got an 07 x18 and was wondering what a few good mods are. also what should be replaced before it breaks? i have already replaced top motor mount bolt which snapped rite off, left welds that hold the foot peg and shifter assembly broke so i replaced with a grade 8 bolt lol, shifter near motor cheap weld broke so made my own bolt and sleev e system that works great, anything else i should be waiting forward to breaking? also is there any restrictors on these and what andhow do i do the exhaust mod? i also looked at intake filters on ebay but am not sure if it will even help at all. and my biggest concern is how to i minimize the mid rpm vibration! the bike sounds like a bag or recycled cans. any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Re: x18 questions.. important!

i drill all my motor mounts to 3/8 and use a grade 8 bolt, do both of them
use blue loctite
gut the can in the 18, thats where the most restriction in the exhaust is
a better (22mm) carb is recommended, also fuel lines, install a cutoff, you will be glad you did
the mounts should get rid of most of the vibration

Re: x18 questions.. important!

drill out the rivits, pull it apart and cut where desired with a high speed something, or even a hack saw will work
then rivit it back together

Re: x18 questions.. important!

Lol hmm starter mod and you want to go fast right? Ok.. if you want a good gearing get a 17t front sprocket and 28t rear sprocket. Of course you can switch out the carb to a mikuni and stuff. Yea replace the hardware. If your bike has been already broken in get some 10w - 40 Synthetic motorcycle oil. If not get the non- synthetic version. This is a link for the stock exhaust mod :How-To: make your stock exhaust better. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

No you would have to grind down your stock chain. I heard its a pain in the but OR you can get a chain breaker, which I think is much easier.
