X18 Rear sprocket question

My x18 is all stock, and i want to put a 28-tooth rear sprocket on it. I heard they were a good improvement for stock engines... would i have to remove links from my chain if i got one?

Re: X18 Rear sprocket question

yup maybe 5 or 6 links
you should get a chain breaker too
the 28 rear will make you 1st and 2nd gear much more enjoyable

Re: X18 Rear sprocket question

u'll need to remove 4 links. just grind out the pins. its a pain in the @ss. remove the masterlink 1st. locate it. its the one that looks different from the others but dont grind that one! should have like a clip thingy.
i have a question also, do i leave the pinion alone? after installing the 28t? i didnt even install my 28t yet but i plan on it.
