Marc, am I interpreting this right? It sounds like your saying we race head to head but the finishing order is determined by quickest lap time. So the rider who crosses the finish line 5th would be the winner if he managed to run one great lap in 8 minutes?

Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

Transponders are 1.5 by 1.5 by 1-Inches. They do have mounts on them with teeth-for fitting them on a tube of about 1.5 inches in diameter or smaller. They are held on with zip ties. They do have an orientation with arrows that must face down, they cannot be higher than 5 inches-MAX.

In regards to finishing order-it will be first across the finish line (as long as that person is in the lead lap)-NOT FASTEST LAP Time. I will make that change on the SERIES SHEET.

Please tell EVERYONE you know with pocketbikes to come up to Maine (1.5 hours North of Boston) to try out our track and our series. We are serious about hosting this andserious about growing it into a competitive NorthEast pocket bike series.

Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

On Another note: I just read that we won't know the difference in pocketbikes and your right and if your raciing peers don't complain than you can essentially race-IT'S ABOUT FUN!!! It's also a tight track so handling and skill will be more beneficial than raw horsepower. Questions? Comments? Complaints? Call or email me. My email is: Marc@maineindoorkarting.com Phone number is: 207-885-0058

When racing keep these two things in mind:

1. Safety is the number one priority
2. Have fun.

Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

I will be there, staying in a hotel on sat. night with my girlfriend and her son. Then we are going to have a blast in the morning. I can't wait to try out this track, I love the tight technical tracks. One mistake and you lost. My personal opinion, anything more than just a regular prody will have more hp than you can use because their power comes on more on the top end and if you try to just gear down, you will be fighting just to keep the front end down and you will not be in second chasing me! .......

Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

I would love to bring Ricky up but we don't have the pants required. I plan on getting him a full racing suit but not until next season... No way I am buying a suit for a 15 year old the way he is growing until the last minute! :-)

So if jeans with knee pads are a no go at this track we will have to pass. Best of luck to everyone!!

Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

I was thinking of asking about the pants thing. We are able to run jeans at sugarhill. The speeds there are higher and the track surface much more abrasive.

MIK- Any chance of changing the racing pants rule?

Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

I'll be there Sunday, I think I'm driving up at the crack of dawn.
Sure is nice not to have to worry about the rain.

I watched the video on the MIK site and now I'm pumped for this.

I have a spare pair of Synthetic riding pants I can bring up if anyone wants/needs to borrow them. I'de still wear knee pads with em though.

Are the Andrews, Davide, JJ or Eddie coming out?

Tony

Exclamation Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

Doug, Scott,

Are we better off postponing until Dec? Seems like alot of time and money (I'm thinking of your hotels) for 28 minutes on the track with 2 other guys, and I am sure it will be disapointing to MIK either way.

Post up.

IF ANYONE ELSE IS PLANNING ON ATTENDING POST UP NOW!!!

Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

We will be going up regardless. We were planning on doing some other things while we were there and this was only part of it.

How do we have 20 people regularly @ SH and now we can only muster a few???

Re: New Indoor Winter Race Series-mik

well speaking for Bob and I the reason is cuz it's farther than SH, and early in the morning. we can't afford to get hotels and don't want to make it that much of an ordeal anyway. but ya, there should be more Mass guys going i'd think. you guys may have to go and race in small numbers a couple times to drum up interest from locals who will join you later. don't know unless you try.
