I'd really like to get into PB racing but don't know if anything is happening in this area. I'm in Richmond, so if I'm missing something someone please clue me in !!

I don't think anyone has started a club yet in the Richmond area.... it would be great if you guys could do it.

In the meantime, the Northern VA riders are in the CAPRA forum, right under this Northeast forum.

You're always welcome to come and ride with us!

thank you

just let me know when you guys get together and I will try to come. I want to see how these races work. I have an X1 with about 500.00 worth of performance parts and would like to know how I can try it out.

I think there is a Cagllari club down there, they may run the X bikes too.

It would be a little difficult for us to start a Richmond club as none of us live down that way.... maybe you could get together with your friends and get one started. You just need a place to practice and then start inviting people....

I'm suprised nothing has been started in Richmond yet. Any suggestions on places that may be somewhat good prospects to ask for practice space?

I could put up some flyers at the local motorcycle shops and possibly the go-kart tracks to see if I get some interest. Someone may have some connections on a place to ride/practice.

I don't even have a PB as of yet... I just think it would be an absolute blast. I'd love to take my normal streetbikes to the track but the truck/trailer/money/time issues make this too difficult for me.

I don't have a bike either, but I was thinking about asking Mr. Ukrop if I could sanction a race at one of his stores this summer. After all, he is closed on Sundays. I know they race RC cars in one of his parking lots on Hull St. Anybody think this is a good idea?

Robocop, do you know how the insurance works for sanctioning an "exhibition race".

What is the norm for awards at one of these events? Trophies? Cash?

Usually you either have to provide the insurance yourself or get the property owner to provide it (which they don't usually do).

You may want to talk to Chuck Shorie (Fastline#1) to see if he can help you with that.

At the Kart tracks we usually operate under the owner's policy.

Trophies are usually the norm but whatever your group decides is best will be your norm.

I'm near Hull St. and I can't find hardly anywhere to ride. : (

I actually did think about going up to one of the Ukrops on Sunday and riding around but haven't yet. I've been up to one of the local high schools on the weekend but that was about it.

If you don't mind the drive you guys are certainly welcome to join CAPRA for its regular Sunday practice in Chantilly, Virginia. Usually from 1pm to 5pm.

I just picked up an X1. I'm in Va Beach. I'm know I'm dredging up an OLD thread, but I'd love to get into some riding/racing...other than parking lots.
