Trying to tell me its illegal and shiet...f that I brush it off my shoulders and drive off leaving the smoke in their faces.

aye bud if you and your friends still wanna hit alki give me a pm or some ****.

"Pocket Bikes"

Pocket bikes, pocket rockets, and other similar type of mini motorcycles are small (most measure only 12

to 18 inches in overal1 height), fast, and manufactured primarily as a racing bike and intended for off-road

use only. Pocket bikes may not be legally operated on public roads. Additionally, they may not be

operated on sidewa\ks, bike lanes, trails, or anyplace prohibiting the use of motorized vehicles.

Pocket bikes are similar in performance and application to that of a motor-driven cycle or a motorcycle.

Pocket bikes meet the definition of a motorcycle as outlined in Revised Code of Washington (RCW)

46.04.330 which states in part, ."Motorcycle" means a motor vehicle designed to travel on not more than

three wheels in contact with the ground, on which the driver rides astride the motor unit or power train and

is designed to be steered with a handle bar, . . ." However, pocket bikes do not meet many of the

equipment requirements for motorcycles that may be legally operated on roadways. These requirements

are outlined in statutes and include: a minimum wheel base of three feet six inches (RCW 46.44.050);

minimum headlamp height of 24 inches (RCW 46.37.523); minimum tail lamp height of 15 inches (RCW

46.37.525); two mirrors (RCW 46.37.400); pneumatic rubber tires (RCW 46.37.420); and others.

Additionally, pocket bikes are not manufactured with a conforming 17-digit vehicle identification number

(V1N), indicating the manufacturer did not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) which

are required for motor vehicles of any clas$ to be operated on public roads. Operators of motor-driven

cycles or motorcycles must also have a valid driver's license, a motorcycle endorsement, and must wear

a helmet.

Under RCW 46.20.024, it is a misdemeanor for any person to cause or knowingly permit a child, who i$

under the age of eighteen, to drive a motor vehicle on any highway without the State's authorization.

In addition to the above restrictions, many cities and counties have enacted ordinances further restricting

the operation of pocket bike$.

All RCW's may be viewed in their entirety by accessing the Office of the Code Revisers website at

$(c.leg.w~.gQv.

Perrrrfect place to ride!!!

I'm currently working through the red tape for the prefect place to ride!
If you get a chance, drive by the old park and ride in Eastgate.
I dont have the exact address, but it is on Eastgate Way, on the north side of I-90 between Factoria way and 148th st. Easy to find if you know the
east side. This place is huge and no longer used. The concrete is in perfect
cond., and it even has an oval track!!!!
I'll take some Pics for all to see, but if you can, stop by. I did the Homer
druel when i saw this place

Call if anyone wants directions, gotta see this place!!! 425-531-2523

go to nwminimoto.com for info on the park and rides, transit authority put their foot down on using any of their properties, and transit police WILL fine you for it. also, using their spots will put more crap down on chris' and mitches heads at nwminimoto, cause they smoothed transit down about it, but they were the ones that were told not to come back, and its in the best interest for the pb comunity out here to not let nwmm get anymore crap than they need about pb's

private lots are the best option, or anywhere with permission.

Yes, but what about MIDBIKES. They are bigger than pocketbikes. Its pretty obvious it would be illegal to ride true pb's on the street. Not so obvious with the mids. My mid meets many of the above catagories.

And they are being pretty selective about the laws they were quoting. As well as maybe downright lying. For example state patrol can assign the remaining digits for the vin if they deem it roadworthy after inspection. (like a custom harley chopper built from scratch for instance...where's the vin?)

They left out any laws pertaining to motor driven cycles, scooters, and most importantly MOPEDS, which are definately the closest legal match to mids. So as usual were being spoon fed what they want the law to say and not what it does say.

I have a seat on my "foot" scooter and I use it 90% of the time. Is it still a scooter? If I put a footboard on my mid and use it standing up 10% of the time, Is it still a motorcycle? What a bunch of bs. I am so sick of laws that protect me from myself. That aint what soldiers died for.

Hey Guys this is Mitch Co-owner of NWminimoto. Christopher and I personally know most of the PB dealers around here (both the good and the SHADY listed elsewhere in theis thread) since we were the first shop around. We are still one of 5 in the US that do the mods on the bikes as well. While we were in Vegas we helped another race team with there China bike go from third to first place pulling away with our reeds and tuning. We have many that ship us there engines and bikes from all over the US. I still race my first China half fairing bike that has no seen more than 40 crashes..and it's still one of the fastest China bikes around with our Stage 1-2-3 work.

Let us know if you get the lead on an indoor facility and well have the guys to make it happen. The weather is going to get crapp pretty soon.

Sorry about the late posts on our weekly rides. Weve been very busy with racing our of town. Were now back and ready for more railing!!!!

Hell yeah good one!!!! You should send this quote to the mayor.....or the president...... OH what am I saying????.... BUSH?!?!?!? FORGET IT.... send it to his secretary so she could lecture him about it.....if it works..... but yeah i was thinking the same because a week after i got my mid i went lookin for laws on it and i was hella confused???? i was thinking a PB should fit in the category between a bicycle and a scooter.....***?!?!? if they gonna do this ...might as well ban bikes which don;t have VINs and all scooters, skateboards, roller blades.... i also doubt they all have VINs? idiots!!!
HINT: The government did this to make money . You see? They target a popular thing like skateboarding and made it illegal to ride in certain areas, street racing, etc.
Popular Hobbies + Gov't making it illegal = Mo' Money!!!! ....for them....from the fines you pay..

I watched PSSA (puget sound skatepark association) rally and organize and even march to town hall to save the ballard bowl, they did have some success, the bowl had to be removed, but... they got permision for a new one.

we might be able to get a "park" but in all likelyhood, its prolly not going to happen. theres just not enough of us out here to make it worth while for the city.

this_bud_4_you,
do you really think that harrasing the city, or making signs or anything like that is gonna help you, or anyone? you got a ticket for riding an unregisterd vehicle on the road, take it like a man. go ahead and try to fight the ticket in court its your right, but if you think making a big stink over it is gonna help, then your most likely wrong. telling the city that their segways should be banned, or telling them them off about their policies doesn't make you right, you just sound like any other person that lost his head over a speeding ticket or something. sit back, crack open a cold one and relax for a bit.

theres better ways of handling it.

Seattle Riders Unite!

I am a link into eight pocket bike riders in the Everett area - we are just now making a group purchase of eight identical, except for color, pocket bikes. 49cc reed valved Zakota ZR full fairing machines. Yeah, we're pocket bike beginners, but all of us ride street and/or dirt, several are accomplished street and/or dirt racers (full size). Looking forward to too much fun!
