Howdy,
I have a 49cc full fairing cag that does 32ish stock, and it is drawing a crowd with my friends. My brother (who is a big boy) will be the next to purchase a pocket bike to race competitively against me. Does anybody know which pocket bike could race best with me acceleration wise, and hopefully top speed too?
My bro is 265 and im 155. Best would be a larger bike for him like an X2 CVT? Will I toast that? If he cant keep up with me on a larger bike which mini pocket bike can handle his weight? Is there any way he can not get too smoked by me (100+ pounds difference)? What if we race a short track where the top speed only gets up around 25-30?
Oh, I almost forgot, too make this more difficult, he's poor as heck. A China bike will have to do. Luckily he's good with a wrench (and duct tape, and makeshift carbon fiber, and prayer).
So any close bikes to that? Should he get one on E-bay, or elsewhere?

Thanks mucho-
a regular cag should do - i'm about 230 and i ride my FF cag and can almost keep up with the little rug rats at our practice track that weigh in at like less than 100 pounds! if you can find one, a cag with the big bore already installed would be best!
how much money is he looking to spend bein' all "poor as heck"?
Maybe around $300. I know you can do around that on ebay. Will it break or wear too fast? He's the mechanic-not me. He's 265, and most or those have a max load of 250ish. But In the price range, that might be his only option. How about $400? anything better for that?
Have him get a bike on ebay 180-259 depending on style, then order a bigbore kit ~80,with that he should do ok against other stock cags. I weigh 220 and I beat the **** out of my cag for a few hours every other day,and Ive had no problems due to weight or load.
Thanks, I'll probably do that.
Hey I flipped the crud out of my bike today. (I sorta tried a higher speed wheelie)
It cartwheeled a few times and did a big jump in the air and made a full rotation (while airbourne). I said a swear....oops.
Anyway, duct tape, lamination tape, a new way to cut off the engine, and bending the handle bars back - and i'm riding again.
My cag seems pretty stout...Just not the plastics.
um heres a video that proves 49cc engines are capped at only about 30 max and wont go over STOCK unless u trick it out the 49cc is the bike that gets way behind and the 47cc is the one that whoops it and as u watch both guys are not really that much of a different size http://www.nationalrecreationgroup.c...vs-mini-gp.MPG

the cateye has a gear reverser/reducer that robs rpm's for more torque. mine will carry me(200lbs)AND my brother(245lbs) total lbs=445!!! it takes longer to get to speed but goes just as fast.

ok then if they are capped how did they do it? what system did they use, is there a stop on the throttle slide? is there an ignition rev limiter? does it have a linkage that pulls the throttle back?(like some rental trucks) or does it have variable valve timing with an on board computer? i am dying to know, also can you explain then why a stock 50cc open class bike(its a 49cc engine) does 50mph?
also what does that video show?(other then 2 idiots with no gear on) they don't use a radar gun or show any kind of timing system, sure the cag pulls away from the midbike, it doesnt show anything about a capped or governed speed

Video only proves you don't have a clue, along with the two guys with no gear on.
Hey. You have a really nice video of that 49cc and that 47cc. Thanks for sharing it. Is the 49cc a midi, and the 47cc a mini. If so, do you think a 47cc mini would beat a 49cc mini. Last thing - was the 47cc stock in that vid.
