Calling all Engine Clutch Professionals! Need Help!

Here's the story, I have a 120cc engine that belongs to a Go-Kart and the clutch is self threaded. You turn it left to tighten and right to loosen. Only problem is the crank turns right which means the clutch would spin in the direction to turn off. Is this possible? Why is this?

The motor is faced in the other direction on a cart. The cluch drive is to be on the right side.
