Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
Hey MelloCag thanks for the great info - you mention the fairings are junk....are they just poor quality weak plastic, or just not enough mounting points to make it feel secure? I really wish this bike came with 17" wheels - I really have no idea where to pick up tires for this should I purchase one...

Thanks again for the info!
BTW - any more pics with people sitting on it?
Not junk as in mounting points but the quality of plastic used. I think a simple inner layer of fiberglass from your local auto store can solve this issue though. As for tires not really but the 17" are a lot more abundant you just have to keep searching for the 16" or wait until China comes out with replacements. There were alot of photos taken at the event so hopefully one of someone sitting on it but there was a lady "very pretty I must say" that sat on it and she must have been at least 5'8" or so she fit perfectly. Alot of good feedback on seating position as far as ride height just somewhat top heavy. Lastly the position of the speedometer will need adjusting. It's faced straight up instead of in an angle so it's hard to see but again if your gonna race it all that electronic stuff is going to be tossed anyhow. Most of the issues are minor and can be solved with some mechanical know how. The ++ is the bike comes with dual front rotors
Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
Cool! Thanks again for the info! I would love to see more video of this bike and source for aftermarket. Bad Azz Toyz has the 140cc upgrade, CDI and carb stuff which I am sure makes a noticable difference. Not sure about the pipe though - any thoughts on a source for a slip-on? Stiffer spring for the rear shouldn't be hard to find....dual disc up front is a huge plus. I am sure some changes in gearing could really make this thing fly. The biggest problem I see with this bike is tires, especially if you really ride it. I think the front is 110/50-16 and the rear is 140/50-16....I have been searching all over Google and just can't come up with a match. If anyone finds a source please post....
Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
OK I was able to highjack some photo's of the bike at the event held by "BARF" Bay Area Riders at the local Honda dealership. Here are a few pics.. Excuse my bald head in the first pic. That's me with the Yamaha Jacket on.. As you can see the bike is not small. The guy looking over the bike inthe second pic is close to 6ft +/- .

believe it or not those bikes have been out here for a long period. If your speaking of the 125 two strokes good luck because they are actually getting rid of the 125 class's from my understanding in the US for road racing all together. The 400 can still be found but at a pretty penny.
Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
Thanks Melvin for the pix and info regarding this bike.
Yes, that is me sitting on the Phoenix 125cc. I am 5' 2" with a short inseam. Tbh, I don't know my exact inseam, altho I am thinking around a 28.
I fit on the Phoenix 125cc as well as I do my 04 NSR, both feet (balls of feet) on the ground, but not flat footed.
Furthermore, I've owned a Ninja 250, which the seating position of the Phoenix 125cc is much lower. Moreover, imo, the seating position (height) of the GPR Derbi is comparable to a Ninja 250, maybe a hair taller.
I share the same opinion as MelloCag in regards to the Phoenix 125cc, at first glance.
I'd also like to add that I noticed the shift linkage didn't look to be adjustable. I think this needs to be addressed.
Tbh, I have not been active in this section for some time since I had sold my 110 X6. So I am pretty clueless to what improvements are needed to add more pep to these 125cc motor. With this bike finally making it state side, I will be frequenting this forum more often, as I am looking to buying one of these bikes.
I had suggested to the owner to have our local Race/Track Director go through this bike to give feedback of what needs improvements, other than the obvious.
We'll keep y'all informed. Mean while, in hopes, that Bad Azz can offer the same and/or offer replacement parts, reasonably priced.

I agree on the shift linkage. It should come with a adjustable linkage bar then next thing is bend the kick-stand inward about 1cm or so to help clear the shift linkage to avoid getting hung up. Maybe the next time I will take a measurement of the rearset bolt placement to see if it can accept aftermarket rear-sets either adjustable or non from big bikes. This will be a big time + if it can bolt right up.

kmotomini offered me to take it for a spin at the event, but I declined. He said earlier that the sound of the exhaust was crappy, so I didn't want to ruin the moment as a lot of peeps had flocked around the bike to see what it was about.
Tbh, just by fiddling with some of the controls, it seems kmotomini had recently removed it from the packing and brought it out to show it off it's final arrival........after all, we pursuaded him to bring it out, as we knew it would have caught a lot of attention.
I am sure that after the bike has been gone thru and finely tuned, as any bike would after being pulled out from it's packing/crating, it would probably sound like any other 125cc motor/bike.
I am eager to see this bike again, once it's been dialed in and/or ready for the road
Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
