what happens if you do get involved in a traffic accident is on YOU so if you dont die or get paralized and your at fault it will come out your own pockets which some of use are willing to deal with. but from what i know most accidents are cause from other vehicles on the road not able to see a motorcyclist and it wll cost more money to fix the bike than it would the car.
and if some lowlife criminal(s) are willing to take the risk of going thru somebody's garage or back patio without gettin shot or caught then they got really lucky.

Hey never underestimate the next person and what they are capable of doing I learned that lesson a long time back. Just as they do not know you, you do not know them so if it does come down to drawing down on someone "really" be certain your going to follow through otherwise leave it for the professionals. Everytime you hit the road on two wheels it's a gamble and well if that person is willing to gamble that life and limb over paying for insurance so be it but it's not you that will suffer in the end it will be your family so keep this in mind.
Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
i must say after reading threw this whole thread..the bike will cost $1700 its from china..so this means upgrades are sure to come..first would be the tires for some real street tires..which will run you between $180 or $220 depending on your riding..then the shift link..needs to be fixed $ who knows..then a real chain $140 since its your life.(tires its your life)..next the forks a set of real springs between $60-$90..fork oil about $12 bucks..next the big problem is the motor we all know its from china. so it sure will have its problems..cost to fix problems..$200-600 ( just a guess for all motor repairs)..i know i'am leaving out alot just covering the basics..please dont take this a bash towards. this bike..but it is street leagal..and you cant forget that your on the street..so if you add up all what i listed it comes to roughly $2642...with the cost of the bike..and if you do all the work yourself...like i said its STREET LEGAL..so after a rough estimate..why not get this for about $300 bucks more..and its a real honda..

Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
Its a nice little cruiser. I doubt you will need to fiddle with the engine. Though, the shifter definitely needs some work and you can get the bike for a decent $1400 if you buy it from the right place shipped. Its not that much and most importantly, it looks bad@$$.

If you are a sensible driver that uses common sense and has quick reflexes like me, you shouldnt have to worry about getting into any accidents. BTW I live in NYC so thats the toughest place for a bike like this and im prepared to make that puny 200cc engine scream.

Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
DUDE several people own this bike and have given their opinions on it! They claim that only downsides are the low suspension pre-load and the shifter catching against the body. Just because it is a Chinese engine doesnt mean its a piece of $hit man. If you dont own the bike, you cant claim the engine is crap because nobody has complained of it and it has just recently been released to the market. Your opinion is completely invalid if you have no information to even provoke that the engine may be unreliable/and or badly manufactured/machined. Im not trying to start a flame war but since this is a NEW bike, you cant just go off and start discouraging people from it if you know nothing about it. Tom.

my .02......
daz94 makes a valid point in regards to safety, and seeing that these bikes are on the shady side in regards to quality. Tbh, I wouldn't feel safe taking one (200cc based model) on any freeway, unless it has been proven worthy (stable).
On the other hand, I feel confident it will be more suitable for casual street riding, hence the word casual.
Altho', I HIGHLY suggest that those choose to buy this bike, go thru the bike thoroughly and have the suspension dialed in. Again, Suspension is crucial how the bike will act/perform even doing simple turns.
I do like the idea that China decided to go with a 125cc and/or 200cc version. It's refreshing knowing you'll have sufficient power to keep up with traffic and or getting out of hazzardous situation(s).

My point exactly as well.. Sufficiant power to keep up with traffic and to throttle out of situations. Ride one of these next to a semi on the highway and you will definately understand why or even twisties on a nice windy day. Even on a 600cc these 2 factors come into play and it's no fun getting pushed around by strong cross winds on two wheels. Like YSRCali said go through the entire bike to insure it's structualy sound if you do plan on getting one for a daily commuter because daily use tends to wear on things more then just weekend fun. Even just crusing around in your hood can be hazardous plus breaking down on one of these "well" it's not like pushing a cag home Still a good looking in-expensive mode of transportation

Re: Phoenix 125cc Streetbike review *ready to ship*
yes, I'm curious to know some more on this bike b4 purchasing it too. are there any videos of someone who owns this bike and is actually riding it? I own a two cars so I would not need to put it on the freeway....but as far as riding around the hood or just going to the store on one would be all I would do with it. and mod it of course

Where exactly do you intend on storing whatever you buy from the store? I have an Aprilia RS50 and trust me, if it came to carrying goods I'd much rather use a car (which you have) when it comes to fun, well I'd choose the bike any day...
