pocket bike question please help

i don't know if this is in the right section of the forums ( im new to this stuff) but if its not here's my question, i just bought a pocket bike a week ago and i've been riding it ever since, but today it broke down.. i started it up this afternoon with choke closed waited for it to warm up then opened the choke then gave it a few revs to make sure it wouldnt bog out when i took off but as i did it just stalled, when i tried starting it again it reved up really high with the choke closed again and wanted to move on its own, it won't stay running unless i keep the throttle held down with the choke open.. i thought it was the bad gas mix so i drained the carb/tank and made a fresh mix and still didnt fix my problem so i thought the carb was clogged, i took it apart cleaned it with carb cleaner put it all back together and it still does the same thing, i also changed the fuse just to make sure it wasnt that.. sorry for such a long entry

CLIFF NOTES: Bike will start but rev's high on its own, won't run with out me holding throttle when choke is open, drained gas completely from carb/tank put in fresh new mix, problem still existes.. bike is only 6 days still on 2nd tank of gas put in new fuse, its a super pocket 49cc

Thanks for your help if u can provide any

if it won't stay running then you have an air leak, or bad carb, im not as much of a noob anymore, but i havnt had any problems in awhile, if there is the slightest air gap or bad gasket between vstack-carb-manifold-head it will not idle and u will have to hold the throttle to keep it running, replace all your gaskets and see if it works. then look at the manifolds inserts see if you over tightend them so that the inserts pull themselfs out, that will cause you to have a bad idle or not run at all.. look for fuel leaks too between carb and manifold

Re: pocket bike question please help

I would just take the whole carb assembly apart, check that all gaskets are doing there job, and that they are alligned right. It sounds like your carb needs some serious tuning too. but yeah, If its spiting out gas it is most likely a gasket problem.
