I would say around six pm; sunset is at 7:15, and the temperature will be falling to 98. I just confirmed with the track owner today (Charlie), and he said the Supermoto guys show up about 7pm.
Hey, guys, wanted to post up a flyer for On Any Moto for November. They're going to be doing another show, and would like racers and riders to come on down and have fun knee-dragging in the parking lot. Local radio station will be providing the tunes, and there'll be a bike show out front, along with BBQ. Flyer attached - I'm gonna be there!
Also, in case you can't wait until then, there's going to be a mini track meet there on Halloween, Oct. 31st, Saturday, probably from 10am-4pm. Not going to be a real big one like the November show, but just some fun racing around the lot. Bring your bikes, bring the family and some friends, and let's go riding!
Had some fun out at On Any Moto today riding with the kids, both big and small. The Rat and the Purple Beastie were on hand for show, and The Re-Cycle got broken in pretty well - one changed-out carburetor and three hard pulls, and she started every time!
The boys were out doing some pretty good laps. Elais wasn't doing too hot - both were dragging from a late night before - but Michael was starting to figure out how to drop his knees around the corners. We all laughed in the pits as Brian (burlavin) tried to catch up with him - the kid was doing a good job outrunning him! Mind you, these kids are only 11!
Mainly it was a day of testing bikes and trying to keep a few of them running. One Cag flat-out refused to start, and sulked against a curb, marking its spot. Another was a hard-starter, but ran decent once it was started. And a third, after a quick jet change, stayed out on the track most of the day.
Sadly, the bike I built for Brian, his show bike, was having some problems. He'd ride for a few laps, then flip the chain off. I must've put that darn thing back on four times, but it kept doing it, no matter how carefully I lined everything up nice and straight. (Yes, the gear on the wheel was straight, too.) Last time it happened, bent the chain pretty good, so now I need to cut a new chain for it. Hopefully, we'll have it ready for the 14th.
November 14th, guys - mark your calendars NOW!
On Any Moto - 1655 W. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85745
Live music, free dyno runs, bike show, BBQ, and maybe a few guys going round and round out in back .... BE THERE!!!!
Good set of pictures, Kelly - thank you! And especially thank you guys for coming on down to ride with us.
Turned out to be a pretty nice there at On Any Moto, didn't it? Wasn't too hot or cold, and we all got in about five hours of racing before getting rained out about 2pm-ish.
Where the heck did Brian find those prize helmets? At the Renn Faire?
Wow thought for a minute there they may have kicked me off of the website, since I'm not getting any e-mails of new posts. Thanks to all who showed up from the Phoenix area to make this a good show! We'll be doing it again soon. I love the winter heat!
Hello, I'm new to the forum and I recently purchased a GP RS-R 2stroke from minipocketrockets.com and it won't start and never has since I purchased it and received it last week. I know i've got the choke and fuel switch set correctly. Please help!
Welcome to the site, IrishPunk. (Cool, another rider from Tucson! Where ya at? Me and burlavin are over on the west side.)
Try this: choke on (lever up), gas on (turned up/down), four easy pulls, then two hard pulls. Are the new GP RS-R's coming with key switches? If so, might be interfering with the starting of the bike.
We're off Grant and I-10. Another one of our members, Juanitoboy93, is out there by where you are, although I haven't seen him on the forum in months.
Have you tried disconnecting the keyswitch? Sometimes that will interfere with the starting of the bike. (I usually take 'em off, anyway.) I'm kinda thinking the keyswitch may be grounding out and keeping the bike from starting. You should be able to disconnect it from the engine and the killswitch wire - just follow the wires.
It ended up being the keyswitch, thanks for the help!
It was great to finally get to ride the bike, pretty fun! What all is out there for possible mods to this thing? I got a sprocket and a clutch from the same place I got the bike from, but they told me the exhaust pipe and air filter were discontinued. I also got an aluminum pull start as well because the plastic one broke after about 10 pulls the day I bought it haha
Honestly, a LOT. Gearing, pipes, air cleaners, carbs, reeds, big bore kits .... we could be here for a while just talking about all the mods you can do to them.
March 20th, 2010, Musselman P-1 Kart Circuit, 9am-5pm.
BE THERE !!!!!!
Also, I'm working on the event director to add yet another class to the event: classic minibikes, the old 6.5hp mini's we all used to ride as kids (and some of us never grew out of !!!) Know anyone who's got one of those, and would be interested in having a minibike event? There's the possibility of 1/16th mile drags (long straighaway), or just a full-on road race. I'd like to see about adding the class for the next event on April 24th, but we can't do it without help! I know there are some of you minibike guys out there ... get back to me, and let's see if we can make this event even bigger.
