Wink importing pb to ontario

Hi can someone help me out here please I ordered a pocketbike from the states and its here in canada, ontario, but I am having so much trouble clearing it thru customs, I have a broker trying to do the paper work and I even have a letter from the manufacturer stating that this bike is for competition use, but the customs still request a VIN number which I believe most pb don't have, its sitting at the shippers for over a week now, if you have any info please help me ! Also if your wondering if this is a pb made in china, no it is not euro parts but assmebled in the states by one of the finest pb tuners !

I'm not sure if this applies to you, but when we went to the states for a race, a vin sticker was applied to our bikes at the border for the border officials to use when we cross. Maybe they can issue you a vin.

There aren't a lot of canadian responses on here. I would try other message boards. TeamPocketRocket and GTApocketbikeriders. I myself do not know personally.

I never had to do any of that. Put the bike, gear, tools, suitcases, and gas in the trunk. We said we where we were going, and that it was for a pocketbike race, and they didnt even ask us to open the trunk.

I think we've crossed the borded with bikes maybe 5-6 times. 12 if you count there and back. Not a single problem yet. Just be honest. Let them know if they ask that your bike is solely for competition use on real race tracks, and not the road.

Other than that I dont know what else to say.

When a shipper brings the bike over to customs is different than bringing it over yourself.

When you are bringing your bike into the States, they are supposed to issue you a vin sticker at the border. If they don't offer it, I would request it so when it comes time to come back into Canada you have proof you brought the bike from Canada. They will also give you a card with the vin on it, and you will just have to show that on future crossings. It's a good thing to do.

Hi all I thank you guys for looking at my posting but I am not talking about bringing a bike thru borders for racing when you already have the bike in canada, i am talking about buying a bike from europe or states or even ebay, cause you will have alot of problems trying to get it through customs, so be aware and do your research or if you want to know where to get the info give me a message I will be more than glad to help out !
I finally got my bike !

HI I did get the pb through customs with proof that this is a competition bike you need a letter of declaration from the manufacturer and as well a sticker was made up in english and french stating this is a competition bike , there is alot more you have to do to bring in a new pb into the country that is purcahsed out of canada and if you have any further questions give me a shout !

Ive purchased 3 bikes from the states. They all arrived on time via UPS, with about 10% Duty added upon delivery.

hey Kalez I would be gladly to pay ten percent duty on my pb than go thru the hassle that I went through for two weeks, just curious how much was shipping charges and brokerage fees from UPS ? I had to pay twenty six dollars for a permission fee to place a sticker on my pb and of course a brokorage fee and a bond fee too ! which totalled over three hundred dollars , and that's not including shipping !

First time:

Bike was $390 US, Shipping was $60 US, Duty at my Door to the guy in the big brown truck was $40 Canadian.
(as a side note, my friend who bought the exact same bike, same seller, same shipping charges, paid $140 Canadian for duty. Why? We still dont know)

Second time:

Bike was $850 US shipped. Duty was $145 Canadian at my door.

Thrird time:

Bike (rolling chassis) was $360 Us shipped. Duty was $40 Canadian.

Im not sure how it is calcualted, but thats how much I paid. No special permits or hassle whatsoever.
