| $10 Wheelie Bar Making a wheelie bar is easy if you follow these steps
first you need to buy the parts
get some aluminum bar stock (ask boostedcalypso what size he used)
meausure out the size for the bottom part of the wheelie bar. cut two pieces of this size from the bar stock. use a hacksaw or a bandsaw if you have access, or as a last resort, bend the bar bac kand forth were you want to cut it until it snapps.
drill a hole big enough for the rear axle of you bike to fit through on one side of the two peices you just cut (drill hole in both peices)
undo the wheel nut and slip this piece over the axle and then put the wheel nut back on and position the piece at the angle you want. use the picture for reference (do this on both sides of the bike)
measure from the end of the two pieces you just put on to the upper rear part of the frame and make a mark (use picture for reference). cut two pieces the length you measured from the barstock (do this on both sides of the bike) (this is going to be the sloped down part of the wheelie bar)
at the mark you made, drill a hole the size of the bolts you bought through the sides of the tube on the frame . drill another hole on the end of the pieces you just cut (do this on both sides of the bike)
stick a bolt through the barstock piece and thorugh the hole in the frame. screw a nut onto the other side of the bolt to secure the piece onto the frame(do this with both pieces and on both sides of bike)
position the sloped down piece and the bottom piece so they both meet at their ends. (do on both sides of wheelie bar)
you can use roller skate wheels and then find a really long bolt or threaded rod that fits thorough the roller skate wheel bearing. this is your wheelie bar axle
eirlier you positioned both of the pieces so they met at their ends. drill a hole the size of your wheelie bar axle where these tow pieces meet. (doo on both sides)
slip axle through one side of the wheelie bar through the holes you just drilled. make sure you only put it through one side for now.
slide a washer onto the axle on the inside of the wheelie bar. then slide one of the wheels on. then another washer. then thread two nuts onto the middle of the axle inside the wheelie bar. then put a washer, then the second wheel, then another washer.
slide the axle withh all the washers nuts and wheels you jsut put on through the other side of the wheelie bar.
put a washer on both outside ends of the axle, then put a nut on each side and tighten them to secure axle
now you will use the two nuts in the middle inside axle two secure the sheels into place.thread them outwards towards the wheels so they secure the wheels against the sides of the wheelie bar
like Isaid I haven't made one of these so my instructions might not be complete. if anyone see's any problems please correct them
also, test your wheelie par by pushing on it and stuff to make sure it doesn't collapse or somethin when you actually wheelie on it becaseu no one wants that and Idon't know if my instructions are strong becasue I haven't built one myself
hope that helps a bit
