gas cap breather mod

  • SUPPLIES:
Windshield washer hose connector for cars,7" Rubber hose ( ex: ada hose kit left over from carb set up,or any other hose that will fit the connector) Tywrap, epoxy glue if needed.
  • TOOLS:
1/4 drill,Drill
  • HOW TO:
First thing to do is to remove the valve out of the gas cap very simple it comes off easy just pry it out. Once the valve is out drill the pin hole with the 1/4 drill bit make shure to drill straight because the connector has to fit this hole. Then insert the hose into the connector. Push the connector with hose into the gas cap * note if you find it too loose you can epoxy the connector from the inside of the gas cap to make it firm. Next step either you can tie your hose with a tywrap to your brake cables or where ever you like, so it won't be in the way. Or you can drill a hole in your triple clamp and feed the hose threw it* note if you decide to drill your clamp make shure that your hose does not interfere with the steering and make shure the hole is cenetered to not lose the strengh of the clamp. There you go easy 5$ mod to get more air flow in your tank...

Re: gas cap breather mod

I did it. used a tapered reamer though. just kept fitting the hose until it was a really tight fit.
