No problem, ya never learn if ya never ask ....

The whole point of doing this is to help quiet the bike down. Theory is bigger muffler, more noise reduction. And yes, it works - I did the same thing with a spraypaint can replacing my stock muffler.

It didn't work for me, melted the ends of the can and then everything came out flying.

Well, that'll teach ya to use one of those cheap Chinese cans. Wait - the stock mufflers on these things are cheap Chinese cans, aren't they? ....

Cool I may try it with a good can, like an oil can or WD40 or spray paint or something.

I have a 3 floor indoor garage in my building.. so there will be no winter for me!

Re: How To: Energy Drink exhuast/Pics

It's really not all that hard to do. Also, if you check out the first link on my signature, I describe exactly how to do it with a spray can, page three. I was going to do a WD-40 can, but haven't had one available yet .....

Indoor garage ...... man, are you lucky. Just be careful for traffic.

I found that the soda cans, the metal is too thin, and the vibrations caused the end cup to bend the metal and the can came loose. I might try using a thicker piece, like a spray paint bottle or WD40 and see how that works out.

A WD-40 can would work well, as it would be a "spraycan" mod. The metal's thick enough.

The WD-40 can works really well. The metal is much stronger and there's no need to use that cup thing at the end of the can.

Re: How To: Energy Drink exhuast/Pics

I used one of those cheap 99cent paint cans from home depot and it works great, it was 3/4 used so they actually gave it to me. I am still on the look out for something bigger though, fatter not taller as I already had to drill a new hole at the end of the pipe to fit the spring and cotter pin.

hate to hijack so um, let's not do that.

Great mod btw..

but did anyone see where Someone with a GSX-R poured TWO 20oz bottles of NOS energy drink into his gas tank to 'improve performance', thinking it was NOS Fuel additive? It was a forum post that was just epic.

Warlord, won't do anything to the power. I've done this on a couple of bikes, and the only thing you notice is that it's quieter than before, no power loos.
