How to Make High Octane Gas

Without going to in depth on the subject of compression/heat etc I will stick to the basic facts and keep things simple. If you have other questions feel free to pm me or call the shop.

When I had my Supra TT with all the stock settings and stock boost 91 octane pump gas worked fine, however when raising the boost (pretty much raising compression) the car would knock (detonate) and the car would retard the timing and I would loose power. To avoid this I had to use a higher octane gas but as you all know this is very expensive. After doing alot of searches and talking to alot of racers I stumbled across toulene and used it for a couple years with no problems. Alot of racers use it and its a pretty well known additive to all the buick grand national guys as well.

When raising the compression on your bike you need to run higher octane gasoline, unless you have a way to retard the timing although doing this usually leads to a loss of power and poor efficiency. Stock most of the china bikes will run just fine on 91 octane gas however when adding a head kit and raising the compression you will need gas with an octane rating upwards of 100 or possibly more depending on your bikes modifications. We all know that higher octane gas is very expensive these days, but what other alternatives do you have?

Solution: Toulene
Toulene can be purchased at most paint stores by the gallon and has a octane rating of 114. I would not suggest running more than 30% toulene unless you are putting a cap full of ATF per every gallon of toulene you use as a lubricant.

Step 1:
Grab a 5 gallon gas tank and fill it with three gallons of 92 octane gas.

Step 2:
Go to a local paint store and buy atleast 2 gallons of toulene.

Step3:
Mix the gasoline with the proper amount of oil for 5 gallons of gas ( i use a 42:1 ratio).

Step 4:
To find out what your octane rating is use this formula
Octane x galllons = X
Octane x gallons = Y
X+Y/ total number of gallons

in this example
92 x 3 = 276
114 x 2 = 228
504 / 5 = 100.8 octane

Question:
How do I know what octane of gas to use?
I cannot answer this it is all trial and error and being able to read your motor.

Will this damage my motor:
I will not be held liable for any damages that occur while you try this this is just a simple way to get higher octane gas and save some money.

really cool idea, but for my knowledge, you still need proper tune for the specific octane to make it work.

thx but this is all kinda point less b/c high octane fule wont make a diffrnce on a 2 strock engin b/c thay use a pressur like a dissle engin. so useing the gas will not make a bit of differnce. thx any way

ps . if u want some real power go to boost industrys .com that WILL work i love boost bottles

Re: How to Make High Octane Gas

nice how to, remember that higher octane gas will require a check in jetting.

this is a definite research before use topic.

Your "english" is difficult to translate...but what you are saying is that 2 stroke runs on detonation like a diesel (dissle engin?) engine ......and a high compession 17 to 1 set up that requires 110 octane is ok with 87?

Just checking.

Re: How to Make High Octane Gas

You could just use 92 octane fuel and add force into it. (forearthonline . com)

Al Unser Sr.Al Unser Jr. and Al Unser III all use it in their race cars. It increases your fuel efficiency(10-30 percent. Works best in diesels. Works with any internal combustion engine.), increases octane, can be used in place of 2 stroke oil(No oil needed), increases hp, reduces damage and just overall helps your engine. Also it reduces emissions but at LEAST %30.
