How To: Make sturdy footpegs for 5 bucks!

Okay my stock footpegs broke a long time ago. I looked online for some but the only ones I would want are the ADA Billets, but I don't want to spend 50 bucks on it. So I went to ace, bought some copper tubing, and I've gone through about 8 of these.

Just tonight, I crashed taking a corner too sharp. After skidding my nuts and breaking my custom pegs, I thought enough was enough.

This only costs about 5 dollars and will be just as good, if not better, than any aftermarket footpeg set.

Step 1: Go to your Local Hardware Store.

Step 2: Look around for sturdy pumbing pipe or I think they are also called "Nipples".

Step 3: Make sure the length is to your liking and the diameter is about 1/2 inch. You may need to measure yours just to be safe.

Step 4: Grab 2 of those, and look for a 2 screws and 2 nuts to hold it in.

Step 5: This is recomended, but grab some griptape. If your local hardware store dosen't carry any, try any skate shop or bike shop.

Step 6: Measure where to drill on the pipe, drill a hole through, line it up on the bike, and put the screw in. Finally tighten the but on it BUT DONT OVERTIGHTEN IT!

Step 7: Measure how muhc grip tape you need, cut, peel, and apply on the peg.

Step 8: Ride and enjoy!

After I did this, I aired up my tires *guess they only had 9 pounds :-X * and the thing was flying. But at 8:00PM, I had to put it away due to complaints. IT's going back out tomorrow morning.

This really works well! IF ou just cruise a lot I suggest making them kinda long but if you race and need to make tight turns, make them shorter. I will try and get pics up later of mine.

Any questions at all feel free to PM me.

Good luck and Enjoy!
