The time has finally come! We are able to announce all the details for the 2005 Season Opening race! We are very excited about this season and can't wait to get it started!!!
Date: Sunday, January 30
Location: Bob Bondurant Go-kart track (
Directions, Info )
Cost: $50 per racer (unlimited classes), $10 gate fee (applies to everyone, regardless of age or participation)
Time: Gates open at 9:00 am
Registration: Opens at 9:00 am, closes at 10:30am (we cannot accept credit cards, cash is preferred)
Practice: According to pre-registration info, we will be running three practice groups with 20 minute sessions from 9:20-11:40 (approx).
The practice groups are- Featherweight/Unlimited Featherweight/Standard 4.2 (group 1), Production/Super Production/Open Pocketbike (group 2), Minimotard/X bike (group 3).
Racer's Meeting: 10:40am- This is mandatory for all racers, parents of Junior racers and team managers. They are short but important.
Race Schedule: Racing will begin at approximately 12:00. The schedule will be posted at the track. We will be having 1 heat race and 1 final race for every class!
A few important notes...
Please bring your bikes AND all your gear to Tech before you go to registration. You must get a tech slip before you can register.
Please call us if there is any confusion as to
class structure .
Please remember to read through all the
rules and specifications. We don't want to turn anyone away due to insufficient gear etc. There will be copies of the rules at the track but it is imperative that our participants are acquainted with our standards before entering the racetrack.
All junior racers must have a legal guardian present to co-sign the waivers. If no legal guardian is able to attend, please have a notarized letter stating who is in charge of the racer.
We will have pre-printed membership forms for anyone wishing to sign up for AZPRA membership on race day. Unfortunately, we will not have all the promised items for membership for this first race. They will be mailed out as soon as we receive them!
Smokers! Please bring an ash can for your cigarette (or cigar) butts.
There is a second go-kart track on the facility. This track will be available for all racers to use as a test/tune area outside of the races and practice sessions. It will not be monitored but we ask that you respect the same on-track rules there as required on the main track.
Some food and drinks will be
for sale at the facility, but there are no stores very close to the area.
There are no gas stations close to the facility.
It may be necessary to drop off all pit materials and then park your vehicles just outside of the Bondurant facility. We will know for sure on the day of the race.
