SMRRC 0fficial 2006 Race Schedule!

Mod, can you please make this a sticky and remove all the club info regarding SMRRC 2005 season:teeth

Here it is everyone, our 2006 racing schedule.

Note the first event of the year on Feb 26th. This date will be our new riders orientation, new riders school, open practice and a chance for new members to get signed up. All races again will be held on Sundays with practice on Saturday from 3pm till 10pm. We now have a "Double Points" race in July. Also, other than our only double header kart/bike weekend on May 7th, we will get the track exclusively for bikes only from 5:00pm till close for our practices (no more sharing with karts hooray!!!)

#1 Feb 26th (Club orientation, riders school, open track day and new member sign ups more details as the date gets closer for this event)
Official race #1 March 12th
Official race #2 April 23rd
Official race #3 May 7th (Karts Sat/Bikes Sunday)
Official race #4 June 11th
Official race #5 July 16th (Double Points)
Official race #6 Aug 13th
Official race #7 Set 10th
Official race #8 Oct 8th (2 hour Endurance race)
Official race #9 Nov 5th

So to go with the schedule, here are the classes for 06' series, not to many changes, here they are-

1. Open Cag (no changes)
2. 4.2 (no changes)
3. Super Production "lightweight" under 180 lbs
4. Super Production "heavyweight" over 180 lbs
5. Open Pocketbike (no change)

So the "Stock Cag" class has been eliminated, and the obvious addition of the light and heavyweight seperation to the Super Proddy class being the biggest change.

So specific to the SupuerProddy classes, Heavyweight riders may run in the lightweight class if they so choose, but "lightweight" riders may not run in the Heavyweight class, for obvious reasons. Weight is defined as the rider in his/her street clothes, i.e. jeans, t-shirt, tennis shoes.

All the specifics of the classes have not changed, the same technical rules still apply.

Well Hai, we expect you and the boys (Freddie, the Rodriguez Bros., Jerome, etc.) to come up for at least 2 races this season.

So I know myself and Steve are racing in SumoProddy, also Rick may be making a few guest appearances, Davy we have on an all fat diet to get him to the Sumo class.

We do have to keep the numbers up in both weight classes to keep them seperate, so tell all your friends.

I believe that Ron and Spencer (formerly Cag guys) are planning on picking up some SP bikes, so we should have a good number.

No weight restrictions for open class though, huh?

I have a new 4 member team that wil be racing with the AZPRA next year and I know at least two of us will be making trip up for at least one race in 2006.

We also were planning to make at least one ******** race but after hearing about Josiah's new class changes I don't think we are going to make the trip.

Darn, looks like I won't get to unload that 50-gallon drum of whoop-azz I've been saving for ya!

One other modification we have decided to make to the rules this year is the elimination of the restrictors in the 4.2 class. They just don't make a big enough difference to warrant their continued use, so there out, and the use of any "Production Class" pipe will be allowed. This should at the very least help the bigger racers in the 4.2 class.
