Congratulations to all the kids/adults who traveled to Las Vegas to race. I understand after talking to Mike that the kids especially did a good job of representing the NW -
I can't wait to hear all the details Look forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks out at Pats/McMinnville.
I'm definitely curious about how everyone got there and transported their bikes.
Not everyone is quite as crafty as Jay who can pack his Minimoto into a suit case.
Mike (Cody's Dad) took our 27 foot Keystone Toy Hauler down with bikes and gear for three of the riders. When Cody traveled last year to South Carolina to race we actually had to ship his bike because they flew. I know the rest of the folks from our area who traveled down, did it pretty much the same way. They either drove and took it on their own or if they flew, they had their teammates bring them for them. It was a group effort that is for sure. With the trailer they were actually able to stay at the track too which made it nice. All the comforts of home right there.... They are on their way home right now - can't wait to hear all the details.
I have pics of Cody. boy can that little guy ride all the kids did great this weekend.Ill post the pics up on our site later in the week.
Hey Doug,
We are lucky the kids in this area are all very talented. I can hardly wait to see some of the pics. I am pumped to see Cody in the side car especially, that is mainly all that Cody talked about when he called home - other than the roller coaster and games. It was a sort of Disneyland race weekend. Glad you got to make the trip and hope you had a good time racing. How did you end up doing? Did you race in many different classes? I'm sure there was an equal amout of fun off the track as well. Can't wait for all the stories. I will be popping over to the other regions to see how it went.
no racing me, I was the camera man most of the time.saturday I help out a little with flaging the heat races.
Oh those pictures are so awesome. I can hardly believe that is my son - that is so cool. You did a great job of capturing the moment. I can hardly wait to see all the other photos that you got of all the other riders. Looks like it was fun!
Yes, all of the kids, and adults road like champs. Thank you to USMPG, this was by far one of the best events we have ever attended. It was really nice to see people working together to better the event, and trying to make sure the we were on schedule, etc. It was a great time, and I hope the kids had a blast hanging out, and have fun with each other. It was very cool for them to get to go out on Saturday night, and have fun. Kind of the opportunity to let their hair down outside of racing for the weekend.
Again, thank you to all who made it possible to have a great time.
well, let me just add my 2 cents in by saying a big congratulations to all who came down from the northwest to represent in vegas.....all the kids did an awesome job out on the race track.....the future of pocketbike racing is in all of them.....i'm still amazed everytime i see the kids in action...
Well we had a blast in vegas..my favorite part was taking 8 NW riders ages 6-11 through a casino while they sang "We are the North West, the Mighty mighty North West"....people didnt have to ask twice where we were from. The kids were a site to look at on the street bike video games, you can tell they all race bikes, people hoverd around them when they filled all 10 games and were hanging off the virtual bikes...I'll try to post pics later. We had great fun and are proud of each racer. I think all the boys from the NW are great kids. Id take them anywhere....again!

Janette
Janette- that was so kind of you and very much appreciated by Cody - he had a great time. If you have pictures of them on the bikes, I would love to get a copy for Cody's scrapbook. Again, thank you for your kindness. YOU ROCK
