I ran my first USMGP event this past weekend and had a total blast! Thanks to Chuck and Julie for the awesome event! Thanks also to ELO and her whole team for the extra help! Also thanks to Frank T. for his help!
Great event with lots of dicing up front all weekend, even in practice! Everyone was helpful and friendly....including the factory guys! Awesome watching the factory guys and others race! Insane riding skills!
If you haven't run in a sactioned event, give it a try! It's a total blast!
I wanted to go, but things just didn't line up. Maybe next time. How many bikes did you guys have there?
65 were pre-registered. It was fun!!! i had a real blast!! I took my stock proddy bike and took 8th in the 1st main,, then 6th in the second main against open 40cc bikes!! this track was lond and fast with a couple of tight corners,, but it all flowed very well. "I will be BAc" as the govenor of CAli would say.
yup. lots of fun. I have lots of pictures to post. Some mad skills out there. The NorthWest kids did so well--taking up 4 1st plces in the junior class, most of the 2nd and thirds as well.
It was cool to see the pictures posted of Cody out on the side car. That was definitely the highlight of his weekend. He was also impressed with the track and the rest of the city and after racing activities. Kinda like racing in Disneyland!
Kimberlie
ps..... also thanks to Joey for teaching Cody the new song...... "from the window to the kitchen put some hot sauce on my chicken......." and on and on. We are still laughing as he sings it! Great job TJ & Mario - way to dice it out for 2nd. Good job to all the other kids who traveled to ride; Beni, Joey, Justin, Colton, Joey & Shavonny.

At the end of Saturday there were 70 riders.
I hope most of you make it to Florida for the finals. At least there
I will have some shade at the start finish line so I don't have to stand in the sun
baking my A$$ off in that DRY heat .
I will have to say the kids were the best to watch and they all listen to the instuctions (better then the seniors did). I was nice to get out there and meet the other side for a change.
It was great to finally put faces to their respective forum nicks! Little Mario had a blast and looks like we will be coming out to Florida for the finals next month. We all had a blast, USMGP has a great staff and ran a pretty good show. I have to agree with Scott, the best racing I think was done by the kids! Great racing all together and man what a great bunch of pocket bike racers and sidecar folks that were on hand.
Big Mario if you guy's figure out how to get a chain to stay on his bike I don't
believe that he will have a problem staying on top.
His fastest lap time was 1.06 and some change. That is enough to make most
senior riders say DAMN. I know i wouldn't mind turning those times.

Scott
We actually finally found out what the issue was... He had totally dessintegrated the bearings for the rear rim! he was riding metal on metal, causing the rim to move back and forth! We have the issue fixed and have learned a very valuable lesson.
Did anyone meet up with Scott Finlay (Top tuner from the U.K.)? He returned to the U.K. with a slight tan, apparently too hot for him at Las Vegas. He enjoyed the racing.
