ADA Fuel Line Kit

Hi guys,

Been looking at the ADA Fuel line kit and note from the instructions you have to drill the tank and install a return line

Whats the purpose of the fuel line being returned back to the tank? Im probably missing the point of it, but surely, you just need tank - filter - carby?
(assuming of course your running a filter)

Thanks for any advice, cos I think Im being a bit dumb

They pump the return line into the tank so it's not dumped on a track, imagine you hit an oil spot with your front slick just before the corner, not good. The kart guys have a little tiny overflow tank that could be used rather than drilling into your fuel tank, just empty it when it's full, you can also feed your tank breather in to this tank as well, any kart shop has them.

I was trying to figure out how to say that return line idea from ADA has leak written all over it, how do i say that Without bagging an advertisers product? I'm sure it can be installed properly but i just know half the people on this forum will get it to leak.

I gotcha, never really considered the breather issue. In fact, my bike only has the vented fuel cap, not like the one which sit higher than the tank which you often see with a breather plugged into.

Thanks

The fuel line kit is actually intended for Walbro carbs. The Walbro requires a return line for the pulse pump on the carb to work.

If you are running the stock carb there is no need for it. Besides, if any part of your overflow tube is above the venturi in your stock carb it will not drain out the tube but instead overflow into the engine.
