Back Wheel Won't Spin At All

Hi all, I've not yet ridden my PB as I'm trying to work out a few things before riding. The back wheel won't spin. I've messed with the back brake adjustments, but it does not appear to be due to brake drag. The chain feels a bit tight, but would this cause the back wheel to not spin at all? Any advice is appreciated.

Loosen the rear axle nut a touch but not to loose. This should reduce the tension also on the brake caliper trail arm ad a washer or two between the arm
and frame. Last make certain your tire is aligned correctly to allow free spin.

i've heard that if your motor is mounted with three bolts in the bottom, the single bolt in the middle can sit too deep in the hole, and stop the clutch bell from turning.

Bolt in the middle? Which style cag is this? Just curious. Mine has three allen screw holding it onto the base plate but they are located on each corner of the motor. The bolts are long though but I just added a washer between the motor and the plate plus this helped to remove stress from the upper motor mount since my motor was sitting a bit low.

Maybe I should clarify, it spins when I turn it by hand, but there is absolutely no freeness or spin to it at all.

Oh I would say your problem is chain tension, it shouldn't spin too much, maybe 1 - 1 and half turns (own its own) after you stop spinning it with your hand.

i was referring to the bolt being in the middle along the side directly below the clutch bell, and this is easily fixed with a couple of washers under the mounting plate against the head of the bolt. my original motor was mounted with four bolts, but on the new motor the clutch side is mounted with one bolt between where the two original bolts were located.

Question

I don't get it? I have the exact same problem only the clutch shoes don't grab the bell until you really up it and by then it has only just grabbed and turns the wheel a tiny bit!
