hey man, i just got the same reeds in friday. when i put them in my bike wouldnt crank, and when it finally would it would die with any throttle. come to find out, the yellow part of the reeds (the bigger piece with the holes) is too long and they can easliy hang on the cases and get pinched closed between the reed cage and the cases. i found this and just trimmed the corners and bottom a lil, put it back in, cranked right up and had throttle response like it should. you should check that!

The timing before adding the rocket key is about 34 degrees BTDC, that's fine for a whipper snipper. When you Raise Compression, Increase the mixture going into the engine, add a pipe and generally start making more power the flame speed during combustion increases to the point where it will combust too early. The results are, less power, more heat and more stress on an engine. In A.G. Bells book he has a chart showing the effects of timing advance on electrode temps, just increasing the timing by .75mm raised the electrode temps by 100 degrees celcius ( 212f), the rocket key advances timing about 1.4mm. Either you have not started making much power or you are running very rich.

and spud warrior to answer your question maybe try tracing your old reed...it requires trimming but i believe its worth it. especially cuz its a good price i mean one reed is usually 15..but u get 2 in a kit for 20

i had to trim quite a bit. what i did what..i trimmed the outside...i put my ada reed over each reed and cut them around that reed so it was the same side...then i used a sander rotaty tool bit to corner it and get the sharpness off. it looks nice. AND YES! i have pics! but, first i would like to find out what this can work for me as i have not been able to test it after the trimming...because its later over hear in MA. so yeah, tomoro will be pics outcomes top speed gains power band changes...alot of that good stuff

it felt just like it did when i had a GAP in my ada reed. when i had my ada i fexed tha gap and it was workin like a champ... so tonight i open up my bike...and what do i find? a gap from the first reed and in the second one. thats two gaps! you can imagina how that killed low and midrange! any gap is bad! so i fixed it by putting part of my old reed under both reeds and now there is no gap at all! i will try it tomoro when i get back fropm school! I hope its good!

Here comes the argument that the digital speedos can only read up to 32mph........

aaa

they obviously read farther than that. in my opinion i think its just the brand and how close the sensor is to the magnet. my gap is about 2mm which is very close....i also have a bell brand speedo
