Boost Bottle?

What is the random hose coming off of my carb? Is that just for breathing, couldn't i just connect a boost bottle right there?, and would an old, empty Co2 cartridge work?

FWIW:
I picked up a "Boost Bottle" on line through BIS Racing, though at
$30.00 there wasnt and messing around,
straight bolt on. Ive seen some ask if they indeed work and
IMO yes. My grandsons X2 has much more low to mid power, better
throttle responce and the bike runs smoother. Added to that the
15mm carb, velocity stake and aftermarket filter and his 49cc
is topping out at 45 or more MPH. I need to get a Deputy friend to
run radar on it to get an acurate reading but even with my 175 pds
its reading 42MPH. Build one or buy one but well worth it no
matter which way you go.

first off boost bottles do work, and if u cant/or dont fell like it sind me 10 and ur manafold! 15 for double bottles

He was probably getting bent out of shape at me, 125cc - told him I didn't need one on my bike, since it's performing pretty well without it.

I Went To Lowes Last Night And Carefully Picked Out Everything That I Needed For The Boost Bottle. I Came To Work Had The Material Threaded For The Barb And Also The Manifold Threaded. So When I Get Home I Will Try It And I Will Post Pics Of What I Came Up With. I Did My Calculations For The Canister And For The Hose Length For Almost Exaclty 49cc Im Over Around .035cc So We Will See If It Works For My Low End Because That Is What I Need ..........

boost bottles just work on piston port engines

Dude boost bottles were first put on reed inducted motors in the 70's.

Ok I Put Everything Together According To My Calculations And The Outcome Was Not Bad To Tell You The Truth. My Low End Was A Lot Quicker Maybe A Couple Hp More But Thats About It....

So i brought a real boost bottle and my bike went fast as ******
it was crazy i loved the hole kit i also had Nos too so maybe thats why it was so fast hahah
i recommand getting Nos it makes the hole bike run smoother lol

heres the question for you, dual or single bottles better? i know you cant exceed the size of the cylinder, ( running one 6 inch hunk of pvc two end caps 1 diameter, and the thing is a beast off the line and top end increased too, still looking for an increase ) anyone have any suggestions i wanna make the girl fly, and how about a nos hookup? any sweet ideas on that one?

is one or two tubes better? i know you cant exceed teh cylinder size but has anyone experimented with two tubes rather than one, while still equaling the same volume? i also have one 1 inch diameter 6 inch piece of pvc ( the rated stuff) on a caglari. im lookin for more power, its definitely a huge increase but itd be greatly appreciated. also has anyone made a decent nitrous setup yet? ive seen the nancy setups they have online, ive read about c02 ones but i need parts lists etc.

Boost bottle don't make power, they increase throttle response and extend spark plugs life by reducing over-rich condition when radically changing intake manifold pressure, aka playing with the throttle... that's all.

Oh and I made mine from a 50cc test tube from the lab, I simply injected some resin inside to bring back the volume to 38 and I played a little with hose lenght to tune it... not up to par yet, but should be soon...
