Your $30k Honda most likely has reed induction . In which case, a boost bottle would be useless .

The boost bottle provides a storage tank for pre-atomized air/fuel mixture. When the piston moves up towards TDC , the boost bottle assisits in filling the cylinder with pre-atomized air/fuel mixture for a fraction of a second until the carb venturi gets enough velocity to fully atomize the fuel.
The boost bottle provies a "BOOST" supercharged effect to each cycle. The advantage is that it brings up the torque and horsepower in the lower RPM range.

Question Boost Bottles, Do they work?

Ok, I have yet to test this item out. So I need some input from your guys.

1- Boost Bottles, do they work? I totally understand the workings of this performance MOD but would like some more info.

2- Has anyone made one for them self or is everyone just buying them from suppliers and FleaBay?

3- This MOD looks very cheap and fast so why is everyone not using them?

4- I would like to hear some facts as far as MPH Ratings etc...

Well thanks in advance fellas .

Question boost

it seems the key is to get the boost bottle small enough to match the 37-40cc cylinder on the stock cags.. a small 2oz wd40 bottle holds 122cc's which is way to big. any ideas on what to use for a bottle???

You can't just grab a bottle that looks like it'll work and expect it to... if that was the case you could just get on ebay and get one for a lot more than it's worth.... and they are even painted blue with NOS stickers on them to ensure you'll go really fast.

OK.. all B.S. aside...

Here's a good post on how to make the bottle and he tells the math formulas for the correct bottle and hose sizes. You'll just need to use 40.2cc for the engine displacement whenever you do the math.

How To/Formula for Making Your Own Boost Tube

I'm still not sure if this should be done to a reed induced engine or if any gain would even be noticed... not to mention adding in a little extra bottom end could harm the top end's output.

I would think the boost bottle theory wouldnt work with the reed inducted motors (although they do use them on dirtbikes and atv's successfully) only for the fact that the reeds should, in theory, close tight and prevent any backflow of fresh charge to head back out of the crankcase and thru the carb. Or are they only useful at low rpms where the crankcase pressure may not be high enough to seat the reeds tightly?

Just to let u know I know the person that sells the boost bottles that a blue with the NOS stickers on Ebay. And they have been calculated and they do work. So b4 u go and think ur the guru of boost bottles, y dont u go and do some research first b4 down playing something u know nothing about. Besides those boost bottles are being sold to cateye,x1,x2,x7 etc.... bikes that arent reed valve motors.

****... talk about a crybaby... have you noticed that you're in the CAG forum and not the cateye,x1,x2,x7 etc.. forum?
I know quite well these work on that engine cuz they are sized for them, they are not sized for a cag. I also know quite well that I've seen the add on ebay several times over where it is claimed they work for 47/49cc engines....Hmm.. what are the cag engines considered to be? could it be... 47cc?

Edit: Here's the boost bottles on ebay with the NOS stickers...
7126672302 ... claims a 3-5 mph top speed increase with a radar confirmed 7 mph increase and claims compatibility with 47/49cc engines Ya ... Right

7126376258 this one claims a 2-3 mph top speed gain and compatibility for the 47/49cc engines... Again.. No Comment

7125659001 this guy's at least honest and only claims to be compatible with the 43/49 cc X sesries bikes engines but has to throw in a Walbro 603 carb to ensure the customer sees a difference... Not bad for $85+ $9.95 shipping all for a $5 pvc bottle and a $39 carb.
