Exclamation Boost bottle

The following boost bottles have been used and are proven not to work because the volume is too large

NOS octane booster bottles. although very nice looking it will not work
AXE body spray cans will also not work
baby food bottles will not work
Starbucks cold coffe bottles yep you guest it won't work

for the boost bottle to work it has to equal the volume of the cylinder in our motors which is around 1.7ml
things we know if you do find a bottle this size or are fortunate enoughf to pour your own plastics and can get the volume right in any of the bottles named above.

the Mod works better if the bottle is higher than the intake

the shorter the hose the better because the gasses do not have to travel as much and loose the speed. or boost that we want.

anything i mist post em up..

Most bottle's contents are measured by weight, not by volume.

You want one that is about 1.7-ish cc (3cubic inches) by volume.

There are some billet boost bottles available which, although pricey, work very well and are practically indistructable...

Notice the size of boost tubes/bottles in motocross. The size of these tubes I see on the market like PBU's tube is larger then a boost tube for a CR80. How do you expect that to work? The size of the boost tube is based on intake volume and I doubt a allegid 49cc motor takes in as much air and fuel as a CR80. The boost tubes i have seen online have almost as much displacement as the **** motor they are suppose to hook up to... Does not make any since to me other then a money scam... If you need a boost get a boost box, they are small, clean and properly engineered.

I was checking out pbu and saw the carb kits with a boost bottle. Are they worth the money? Is any one on here running one on a cag?

a boost bottle is a small closed tube with a hose that installs between the carb and cylinder, as fuel goes in at low speeds, some goes into the bottle and trickles out at high speed giving a speed "boost". a "juice box" works tons better.

what materials you use for the booster bottle. how big the booster bottle will have to be in volume and in size?

can you teach me so that i can make one for my bike?

how fast do it make it go faster, low end speed or high end speed?

Thumbs up

What is a boost bottle?

The boost bottle is a small sealed chamber connected to the manifold of a 2 stroke engine by a small tube. It works with a 2 stroke by when it sucks in gas, then the piston goes up the gas wants to keep going forward but hits the piston. It would then usually go back into your carb making your fuel mixture double rich in the time fractions of a second. With a boost bottle this flow back of gas goes up into the bottle and compresses itself to do inertia, it will then shoot back down into your cylinder. This makes gas go into your cylinder quicker, allowing for a better explostion and quicker stroke.

How to make one

You want the boost bottle to be greater then the cylinder volume. IF its a bigbore rc 25.4ccs you should make the bottle to be around 27-30ccs, not to much bigger then the cylinder. The bottle should be positioned above the intake manifold so that it drains down; an incorrect position of the bottle below will cause air/fuel sepersation and form a puddle of fuel over time.

If your going to make one, drill the intake manifold and put a 1/4in barb in it pointing upwards (you got have a drill and tap if you want to do it right, not having it ghetto with jb weld or something. You can really make it out of anything. I wouldn't recommend using pvc pipe because of gas. But you can make it out of pipe fittings, or even possibly butane bottles just something that is sealed all around. You don't want to have any air leaks. And use a 1/4 in fuel line, I would use pipe clamps around the two barbs(like what airfilter use to hold it to the velocity stack.

How a boost bottle improves performance
Written originally by: SRE

Air rushes thru the carb on the intake cycle. Ignition accelerates the piston down closing the intake port. The momentum (Intertia) of the air has to go someplace, it goes back thrue the carb causing a double rich mixture. The result can cause hesitation.
Due to the velocity of the air/fuel mixture through the carb, we need to take advantage of this momentum/inertia energy. The boost bottle provides a storage tank for pre-atomized air/fuel mixture. Now when the piston moves up towards TDC (top dead center) the boost bottle assisits in filling the cylinder with preatomized air/fuel mixture for a fraction of a second until the carburetor venturi gets enough velocity to fully atomize the fuel.

The boost bottle provies a "BOOST" supercharged effect to each cycle. The advantage is that it brings up the torque and horsepower in the lower RPM range.

Supplies:
Bottle of some sort
6in of 1/4 fuel line
2 1/4 in barbs
Drill and Tap
Some brains

What I experieced
I noticed when I was warming up my ped after installing it was quicker throttle response. When I got it running how I like it I had it tuned a bit richer on bot L and H. I noticed a lot accel power. When I would rev it a little in the air and drop the back tire to take off it didn't hesitate like it did prevously.

another words if you have a 49cc motor heres what i did

got a peice of pvc 1"x4" 2 end caps drilled and taped it
drilled and tap the manafoild
ran my vapor line to the boost bottol
DONE
it took me less than an hour to make a do
