Cag rant...severely disapointed

Well I recomended one of our advertisers to a buddy of mine to buy his 3 boys some cags. They sent them out in good time & no shipping damage.. thats a plus.
He called me over there yesterday afternoon while he was unpacking one of them. I help him get the bars adjusted. brake levers etc... We move to the front wheel... I give it a spin... notta.. you can barely move it with your hand..
I loosened the brake line.... still wont spin
I loosened both side of the axle... wont spin
So I'm like.. well maybe after we ride the thing a few minutes the bearings will loosen up...
Move to back wheel.... chain really tight.. I adjust chain to about 1/2 inch play
turn wheel.... won't spin.. see a pattern here? ok loosen brake cable... wont spin..crap maybe it will loosen it up when we crank it and run the bike a bit.
we gas the bike up.. fires on second pull...awesome.....Give it gas.. it dies because of the resistance in the back tire. Fire it again and let it warm up for several minutes....We have it on the stand and give it some gas.... it finally turns the back wheels and revs out a bit... So o.k. my buddy gets on the bike to ride it.... it just wont go anywhere from the resistance in the front and rear wheels....He has 2 other cags boxed up.. so whe pull another one out... front wheel is a little better and spins almost a revolution by hand after loosening the axle a touch. Adjust chain in rear.. guess what.. won't spin... I had to leave and I'm sure he ticked that he spent 750+ on 3 cags from someone I recomended off this board and nothing is working for him.. if they dont roll what good are they? He called the advertiser and they said the had a batch of bad bearings and would send some out... I hope this solves the problem..My x7 needed a bit of TLC at the unpacking stage, but everything was very smooth with getting it going right out of the box.. what gives?

Hi!

All that doesn't seem to be that serious and it has definilty nothing to do with the shop selling them. (unless they told you their bikes were all checked up and adjusted, which I doubt!).

I thought it was sort of well known that the chinese bikes need some check up before going. if you do a search with something like "no spinning" you should get your answer in no time!

check this one -> Back Wheel Won't Spin At All

yeah.. I did search the bearing topics and I'm sure the advertiser will make good with parts. I know it's not the sellers fault these things are put together like crap.. but it seems that these sellers should be demanding the suppliers to at least step up the quality enough to get these things to roll.... I forgot to mention that the first one we tried to adjust had a total bearing failure.... upon cranking the bike/warming it up we proceeded to throttle the bike and get the bike tire spinning... it then proceeded to spit out 7 ball bearings onto the floor!
obviously not going to work until some parts get in for his boys to ride them... the boys are stoked about the bikes, but heartbroken their such crap right now till we get them fixed up.
I read a topic about replacing the axle spacers on each side with washers..
no one actually stated what thickness/outer diametr/ inner diameter/
any care to chime in?
Believe me I went over my X7 with a fine tooth comb and read topics a month or so before I ever bought one. I replaced every screw that was possible on the bike with stainless steel bolts/washers/nuts from the hardware store.
I even placed rubber washers on both sides in between fairings to reduce vibration. The new hardware set me back $50... that's a lot of dough for nuts/bolts, but they are grade A stainless.. I want to help my buddy get his set-up the right way so his kids can enjoy them.. plus I'll have more riding buddies... My buddy has a cateye that we have been trying to get tuned correctly too.... so he now has 4 bikes in the garage....

Just measure the thickness of the spacers on each side and add the same amount of washers.

This still does not specify / guesstimate the outside diameter / insidediameter of the washer
Outside diameter= bigger than bearing surface?
inside diameter= what size is the axle diameter?

Here's a little trick incubis figured out (i wont take credit). If you kept your old bearing take the cover off the bearing and pull the middle out of it. Use that as a spacer. Trust me it works like a charm. Those stock spacers mushroom on the end and the diameter becomes bigger than the inside diameter of the bearing. So it catches and the bearings keep blowing.

Well, Mine was a bit tight, Try to loosen your brake cable, loosen your chain and axle adjusters from left and right, and loosen the axle bolts, add wd 40 to the bearings, if it still does all that crap, take off the tire, take off the chain, add the tire, see if its cause you have a bent sprocket, maybe thats why, if its still dragging, then take off your brakes and add the sprocket with chain, one of those should be the problem, I would try to loosen everything, the chain should be able to be pulled up and down about .5 of an inch....If you need anything else, pm me man....Good Luck
John

Hey, atleast they run, some cags come with engine problems and that sucks, you have to replace parts to get it to run...good luck again

This one time at band camp there was a thread at the top of the page that said " Sticky: 39 & 47cc CAG FAQ <-- READ TO AVOID PROBLEMS!" that said what to do before you ride your cag. Very informative and could help the new cag owner avoid problems like that.

Listen dude,

I'm not a noobie here and I've read many of your belittling post on this board. I believe you a suffering from a disorder called "little man syndrome" you should seek help for your condition. As you can see in my post, if you can decifer English correctly, I am clearly not asking for help (Per Tilte of Topic=Rant) , but merely stating that I was disatisfied in the quality and disposition of said 3 full fairing chinese cags. I appreciate your willingness to try and put people down on this forum. I am also sure that other people around you in real life appreciate your demeanor.
Thank You,
Weekapa1

Hey "dude",

Your rant is pointless, so you got some bad bearings, who hasn't had a problem with these things. My bearings blew out on my first half fairing Cag within the first couple days but I didn't write a long winded thread about it. These bikes require some prep work before even using them, I learned my lesson, my second Cag got torn down to the individual parts, bolts replaced with high quality hardware, anything that could come loose got locktite, bearings replaced with quality sealed ones, etc. Thanks for the scorching personal attack . Get a sense of humor.

I am fully aware of what a search button is on a forum. I do not appreciate his comment in any form or fashion. I hope he had a nice time at Band Camp. Maybe this is where he learned to blow a horn. I also do not appreciate his use of implied shouting banter " READ TO AVOID PROBLEMS!". Personally, I normally punch ones self in the mouth for yelling in my face...... Wouldn't you?
Hey weekapa, once again, take it easy, he didn't use capital letters, he just made a copy/paste. Have a look, it is in capital letters in the original thread!

just looked through 200 of my 500+ posts on here and couldnt find anything that would be considered belittling of anyone, at least not anyone I was already friends with. In fact I realized what an asset I am to this place, lol. Hey I read your post pre-edit, if your ever in NY and wanna try to punch me in the face, feel free. So much violent talk from a guy with a biblical refrence as his signature.

I'll be in Brooklyn this summer to visit a buddy, maybe I'll take you up on that

"So much violent talk from a guy with a biblical refrence as his signature. "

I changed my sig just for you. Unfortunately, after the rapture, you will not be the judge of my actions. Because I gave a biblical reference as my sig ,it does not mean that I am without faults. I have many.
