Carb help

Guys, As I am clueless when it comes to carbs I have a question with pics that I could do with some help on.

My carburettor which I presume is a stock carburettor has an OPEN slider on the one side, a fuel valve and an idle screw on a spring on the other side. What position does the OPEN slider have to be in when tuning? And how many turns does the idle screw need from either fully out or fully in?? i noticed that the idle screw has 'B' stamped next to it, what does that mean?? is there any documents that i can download to help me with this??

these things are hard to tune!

Attached are a few pics of my carburettor so that you can see what I am dealing with.

The "open slider" is the carburetor choke, and it should be up when you first start the bike, then slide it down once the bike is warmed up. The fuel valve should be turned in the vertical position to allow gas to pass. Turn the idle screw all the way in, then turn it 2 1/2 turns out and then you do small turns to tune it from there. Yes these bikes take patients.

Re: Carb help

^^ Yup what he said is right. Make sure you put the fuel valve in the horizontal position when you're done riding to prevent fuel from spilling out.

As far as the choke, what he said is usually the way to do it, but it also depends on the temperature outside. If it's warm, you might have to open the choke up a little bit (push it down). I've had the bike for a while and still have to play around with the choke depending on the weather.
