Carburator Porting

What size do I port the carb to?

Also, do you port all the way through because I see this brass hole where the needle goes in(main jet?)?.

Can I remove it somehow?

And last, I remembered I saw some picture posted of ported carburators, can anyone post the pictures again, I can't seem to find them in the forum?

Because you can pop through to the fuel vein, and it lets in way too much air to the carb where you'll have a hard time to hold a good idle.

Did you take out that brass thing(where the needle goes in) in the middle of the carb before you ported it all the way through?

I went all the way through with the 9/16 and it idles fine. If you go all the way through, make sure you drill the plastic manifold too.

yeah i took everything off before i hogged it out. and then cleaned the hell out of it, put it back together and it rode great. i don't know if it made an improvement or not but it pulls great.

Ok, but won't the hole be too big for the slider? Won't there be space on each side of the slider?

Also, I read that the intake inside can be polished smooth, but the side after the carb, the surface should be textured because if it's smooth, the fuel might bead up. So what sand paper grit should I use for the side after the carburator?

yeah there is space on either side of the slider which makes it idle higher. but in my case i just turned the idle screw to where it was not affecting the idle and it idles perfect.
