its not better than the 4 petal reed setup but not far off and you save yourself over $120 doing this mod . you dont have to cut the bar to put on the polini reed but you dont get much if any gain if you dont . Green is stiffer than blue
correct and jed.only what do you mean by triple stage 4 pedal? cuz thats what im running in my cag now and lets just say blackwidows are not the best the only thing i like about the tripple stages is how easy it is to start the bike. i would rather put my polini blues in but im selling my cag anyway and i need the blues for the banshee.
i might have an extra one laying around let me go check i gave standard one for christmas lol
yes i indeed have barely enough to make 2 so basicaly 1 to be on the safe side but you'll have to cut it and drill the 2 holes its easy just use your stock reed as a template. then cut your reed limiters off the 2 prongs that limit the reeds and use whats left as a bar to mount the reed so the screws dont tear through the reed this will also take up a little case volume. dont worry about over extending a polini green reed cuz you wont it will not snap either the cag engine doesnt have the power to do such damage plus its like 3x stiffer then the ada or black widows and carbon fibre not shiityy fiberglass. then when you bolt it down dont bolt it down too tight cuz the reed will bend keeping the reed from sealing it just barely needs tightened. how does $10 shipped sound? $7 for the reed material and a couple bucks for shipping and gas to get to the post office lol

alright guys we can make another 2 pages in the next 24 hours arguing over who is the best 2 stroke tuner but solid knowledge is all that matters. when you have ridden nothing but 2 strokes for 10 years and maintained/modded them all yolurself then you can try and justify things for others. remember this, more isnt always better i believe you should read graham bells 2 stroke performance tuning, that is if you find a copy of it.
cutting the center bar and laying a square reed over it THEN cutting the center bar and carefully port matching the edges to your gaskets and intake simply will give you the most. aside from a v shaped dual pedal cage like the ada one. (with the center bars cut there too of course)
i have owned 4 banshees, a 250R, a tri-moto125, cr's (about 6 of them) and a tecate 3 and 4. my *** is talking.
I will post you up something. Sr20hardbody is basicly giving the idea of single petal reed made from stiffer material. Its pretty simple idea. I have been really happy with the reed mod so far. Its been a big improvement over stock and way cheaper than the black widow. Over all, i would give this mod a 10 out of 10 rating. I am sure the single reed mod is also nice.
on a dual petal reed, there is a bar in the middle of the that separates the two pedals. You remove bar and put a single reed in place of the dual petal.
if i cut it out and replace it with polini blues, well it give me good performance, and should i cut the polini reeds to, like in the middle for more flow??
-thanks
No, you want to keep the new polini reed as a single piece, no holes. Just remove the center bar on the 2 petal reed spacer to increase your airflow. If you cut the polini reed in the middle, it will totally nullify going to the single reed.
alright well im cuttin tomorrow, just makin sure i should do this on the ada cage
LOL! you better be really really careful them things aint cheap! one slip of the dremel and its toast i'd advise you cut the bar not to close to the edge and take a look from every which angle to make sure your not gonna hurt the other side.
ohhh and dont cut the flat bar on the intake side of the cage its there to introduce turbulence into the cage cutting that will decrease velocity and make it harder to start you can knife edge it though.

what do u mean by hurt the other side, and which one is the flat bar?
from my understanding im suppose to just cut the whole middle out, just want to make sure, dont want to cut 100 bucs in the wrong place
exactly what are you talking about sr20hardbody? knife edgeing the bar?? Please provide some visual detail. Turbulence increasing air speed?? Turbulence occurs from the slowing of air.
