Confused!!

First off I have the big bore motor ported and polished, piston indexed, rockit key, bored out carb(15mm), stock exhaust which I shortened the header pipe by 1 inch fiberglass reed, running Cam2 fuel(104 octane), Autolite 254 plug gapped at about 25 thous. and am running 7/70 gears. I just recently installed the FG reeds because of flutter at WOT which the reeds got rid of and now I have a much smoother acceleration and no flutter. The spark plug was showing signs of running alittle lean so I moved the needle steeping to the 4 position. I then decided to make my own reed block spacer(it's about 3.5mm thick) to increase my low end power. Now my low end is alittle better and mid range kinda sucks and when I get to high range everything seems to be better but I don't think I'm turning as many RPM's as I was before and the plug is now pretty black but not fouled. So now I've put the needle back to stock position and everything is still the same accept when at WOT alittle flutter from what I'm thinking is lack of fuel but I've yet to check the plug. Mind you this is a stock carb bored out. SORRY SO MUCH $HIT TO READ!!

Lean your needle back down. If I remember right, the reed spacer allows for a richer condition. Put the good reeds back in aswell. Also depending where you are from, it should be getting colder and your jetting should will need to richen up a bit depending on how cold it gets. Make sure you use a new plug so you can find out how your new configuration is burning. Good luck frank
