A couple little things...

Aright, so the screw that goes in the heat shield to the exhaust snapped(only the top piece of the shield). I had to take it off because of the rattle, very obnoxious. So i now have a tiny hole in my exhaust AND right where that sits is my seat, which gets soft after riding from being heated up from the exhaust, and will eventually have a hole in it.

Would that exhaust leak cause my bike to shut off after idling for about 45 seconds? because it tends to do that and i dont know why. Suggestions..

Whats the span on these spark plugs too? Just wondering

Re: A couple little things...

id weld the hole shut for one and plugs should last a good while man..but let the bike run then check the spark plugs color...could be a fuel issue causing it to run too lean due to gas restriction then it overheats and shuts off....(very white end on plug would = that) or it could be for some reason your getting too much fuel(black on end of plug)...report back with spark plug color!

Aright
White end was pretty white..right where it ends it looked a little brownish...then at the spark end of it, it looked burnt, is that how it should look?? not burnt, but just like a lil charred from the sparks...

Yep .... you're running way too lean. Take off the top of the carburetor, remove the throttle assembly, and move the c-clip on the throttle needle down a notch or two.

its not hard. the hardest thing is making sure all the little pieces are put back in the right order and you dont lose them

I'd suggest taking a picture of the assembly right after you pull it out of the top of the carb - you'll need it for reference. Got a Polaroid camera? Or just use a digital, as long as you can see how everything went together ....
