shouldnt, if you plan on letting it sit just run it out of gas and put a little oil down the spark plug hole.

I find the gas fumes help me sleep better! Hasn't killed my tarantula yet either.

Gas freezes at -115 degrees, i don't think that would be a problem even in new york. Gas however does go bad. it will turn to a varnish like substance that will clog jets and gum up the carb. Mixed fuel should not sit for more than 2 weeks in your tank.

You should empty the tank and carb before you store it.

No your gas wont freeze. The flash point of regular gasoline is about -97F, meaning that it will still burn at 97 degrees below zero. Oh, I live in a studio apt so I also leave my bike inside

...Opps teamdaddy beat me to it

Dump the fuel out of the bike and drain the float bowl then spary some wd40 down the plug hole and up the carb ...then put her to bed for winter

If your gasoline freezes you probably wont want to do much ...i know i didnt .......good thing the superbowl was on that day ....and my bucs won...

Reason number 6 why im glad i dont live in northern alaska no more

I dont winterize anything anymore I just start them up at least every week let them run long engouh to get up to operating temp before I shut them down the big bikes I have on rear stands so I also will go through the gears
but I live in NC so every so often the weather will be mild in the winter so I can get out and ride

you don't have to worry about gas freezing. You do have to worry about the gas going bad!! if plan on doing the start it once a week thing,, make sure that the tank you have is run through completely in 2 weeks. Mixed fuel should not age more than 2 weeks. best would be drain the fuel and float bowl then store it. there should be enough residual oil in the bike to keep it lubed for the time it is stored. If you domp straight oil down the spark plug hole you will have a hell of a time getting it started when spring comes around.

Don't get too jealous of 1.8. Miami is hotter than the devil's taint in the summertime. It is, of course, really nice the rest of the year.

yes , yes it does ...****ed windchill took it just a bit below that ...started out innocently enough at -85 but that ****ed wind off the nerby mountain really screws with things ...if it wasnt plugged in and inside the shop it didnt run .....

on a dare i ran outside real quick in shorts and a t shirt ....REAL QUICK..thought i was gonna die ...of the liquids tossed outside was a bowl of fuel and a bowl of summer diesel ...motoroil is pretty neat at that temp too

you learn lots of materials and how they react to cold when your up there ...

sorry to jack the thread
